CHAPTER 23

Amanda's POV

"Glad you made it on time." nakangiting sabi ni Ms. Niña habang inaayos ung mga dala kong gown.

Fortunately, I finished it on time, thanks to Ares. Apparently, he didn't let me go to work unless I finish these gowns so I was spending the past whole week finishing these. Sometimes he drops by the penthouse to give some help.

"Oh right, before I forgot, these are the entrance pass." she said and handed them to me.

"Thank you po." napansin ko namang nakangiti lang sya sakin.

"Are you excited?" hindi agad ako nakasagot sa biglaan nyang tanong kaya natawa sya. "Of course you are. Your designs will be the centerpiece of the show so you must be very excited. You got a great career waiting for you." I smiled upon hearing that.

"I'm nervous and excited at the same time po. I don't know what they're going to say about the gowns, especially when the school's collaborating with highly-rated brands."

"Nako. Don't worry too much. I'm sure they'll love it. Hindi ka naman ilalagay sa finale kung hindi magaganda ang gawa mo."

"Sana nga po."

Nang matapos na naming ayusin ang mga dinala ko ay sakto namang dumating ang iba kong mga kaklase. Some congratulated me, but some are giving me glares. I just shrugged it off.

Bumalik na agad ako sa penthouse para magpahinga. I've been sleepless these days dahil ginugol ko ang oras ko sa pagtatahi.

Man! Being an arts student is tiring...

I watched the ticking of the clock as I'm trying to sleep but it's no avail. Hindi pa rin ako makatulog. Maybe because I'm overworked. I was about to get my cigs when I remembered Ares took them with him.

Speaking of, I haven't heard from him yet. Magdalwang araw na syang di nagpaparamdam. Not that I'm expecting him to message me always, it just feels new. Maybe just like me, he's also busy in the company. I heard there's a problem arising in Solstice kaya abala lahat ng tao don ngayon. I just hope everything is under control.

Bumangon na muna ako at kinuha ang aking laptop. Unlike before na puro messages from different guys ang bumabalot sa accounts at email ko, ngayon, puro reporter na, asking about my relationship with Ares. I know ignoring them is the best choice right now, but it's irritating to see their flood messages and calls. Now I wonder how Ares handles it very well.

Upon scrolling through my feed, I saw a news article regarding the issue in Solstice. I don't know if this is a legit source or not, since Solstice haven't released an official statement yet. But it says someone from the company caused a ruckus a while ago, claiming he's not getting paid accordingly.

Knowing Ares, he won't let such thing happen to his employees.

He must be exhausted right now.

Come to think of it, Ares is there when I needed some help, maybe I should repay his kindness for the pat weeks.

'Hey. Busy?'

He's not online but I'm hoping he'll reply.

Tumayo na muna ako at nagluto ng pagkain. Maybe it would be good to prepare a bento for him. Just a 'thank you' gift.

Narinig kong tumunog ang phone ko and it's from Ares' message.

'Hey. A bit. Sorry if I was gone for a while. Had to settle some things in the company. What's up?'
