The news spread quickly about the breakup. All weekend Daphne and Draco stayed in their dorms, not leaving at all. They both stayed in bed, crying to themselves. Now that the weekend was over, they had to see each other, in classes, prefect duty, hallways, dinner and breakfast. In the dorms, Daphne had covered every mirror so she wouldn't see Fiona. The girls never really questioned it, they just felt bad for her so they pushed it to the side. Draco on the other hand, he stayed in bed, same spot, for past three days. He didn't have the guts to show his face anywhere, and the boys bothered him, saying that he's finally free, that he did the right thing. It angered him more but he didn't saying, he just kept to himself. He was too heartbroken.
Daphne dragging herself out of bed. Her eyes were still red and puffy. She didn't care what she looked like anymore. The sheet that covered the long mirror fell. Daphne picks it up and looks at the mirror. Fiona was behind her, her hand on Daphnes shoulder. She wasn't scared. Daphne stood there, cold. She can feel her, as if she was there with her.
"Its time to come home dear." She whispers to her. "Come home to me, let yourself go. This is who you are meant to be." She dropped the sheet and wiped the tear on her cheek. Fiona smiles as she grabbed her robe, heading out. She walked to Charms class, already filled with students. She walks up to Lisa and Amara, tapping Amara's shoulder.
"Can we trade seats please." Daphne begged. Amara scuffs. "I'll give you whatever you what, I just don't want to sit next to Malfoy." Malfoy. It sounded so weird to say that name. I've never called him Malfoy in a long time.
"Do my dark arts essay." Amara crossed her arms.
"Fine." We made the deal, Amara went to my old seat and I put my head down on the table.
"She wanted to trade seats." I heard Amara say. My head peaked up, Draco already pissed.
"You did the right thing." Lisa whispers as she saw me got sad. She held my hand as class begun.
"So today, we are going to-" the words of Flitwicks went in one ear and out the other. I watched as Draco sets his chin on the table, drawing on his parchment. I can feel this dark feeling inside me again, it started when we starting to drift apart, and more when we broke up. It feels like evil crawling up my skin. Wanting me to notice its attention.
"So what is the spell that you-" Lisa stops herself as she looked at me staring out in space. I don't even remember charms ending or how I even got here, sitting outside with Lisa. "Oi, Daph?"
"Hm?" I looked lazily at her.
"You alright?"
"No yeah, I'm just collecting my thoughts." I looked up, behind Lisa was Draco, walking away. Daphne Greengrass and her sister Astoria following him, giggling. He honestly looked tired and annoyed. Lisa looks at me, concerned. "I should hate him, but I dont. He is the reason why I believed in love. I have fell in love with him ever since i met him, I couldn't help it. Is it bad that I still love Draco?"
"No, love works in mysterious ways. We all have different ways of letting go. And if you're not ready to let him go, thats okay."
"I should've saw it coming as we're drifting away. I was just too blind with love to see it, still thinking we could make it work no matter how many apologies he made." I looked down and my shaky hands. "I shouldn't be crying over him, because I know my worth. Im stronger than that, but our love was stronger. Maybe she's right, how can someone like him like someone so broken like me?" Still looking at my hands. Was Fiona right all this time?
"Who said that?" Lisa leans forward. "Daphne, who?"
"My mother." I whispered softly. Lisa sits up, shocked, she had trouble reading me, I was just so detached. I just had a blank expression.
