It was gloomy, rainy, dark. The castle basically disguised itself within the clouds and the darkness. It was cold throughout the home. Daphne stayed in her room, away so nobody would both her. She wanted to be alone. Nobody to yell at her, make her feel worse than she already has."You busy?" Lucas knocks as he opens the door. I put down my pen.
"Not at all."
"What you drawing there?" He looks around the room. He chuckles as he looks at the diamond he gave her many years ago.
"Nothing." I closed my journal and sat up. "Is my father still here or did he leave?" My father had to look for Potter, Voldemorts orders.
"He left this morning." Lucas picks up the chess game from my shelf and heads to my bed. "You've been in here since the morning, Fiona is gone, she left with your father." He sets up the game.
"Good, i could at least leave my room so I can eat. That woman is always behind me." We started to play chess. "A16." I called out.
"Always badgering. I know, i used to live with her." He looks at the board. He thinks for a moment. "C8."
"Why don't you do something about her?"
"I hate her, i do. But she is still my sister. I would never kill anyone, not her."
"I thought you killed before?"
"No, i use a spell that 'kills' you but within minutes you come back. Clever huh?"
"Look at you. Mister Spellman."
"You got jokes. Anyways, I don't have the guts to do it. Im not evil. I should not be the one taking a life. Not even if they do deserve it." We stayed silent for awhile, taking turns on the board. "I came here to talk to you."
"Oh no, im in trouble aren't I? What is it now? What lie did you hear?"
"No lie. You need to cool it down with your smart remarks when you are around Fiona, trust me, they do put her in line but she will snap and it will get ugly." I looked at him. He was serious.
"How ugly? Like-"
"Thats the thing with Fiona, we don't know what she will do. Usually she'll harm, torture, even kill. With you, she won't kill you, but she might do something worse." Oh how lovely. Thats so comforting to hear. He places his hand on my shoulder. "Even if she does do something, I will stop her before she gets the chance."
"Is that why my father scared of her?"
"He isn't. Its the threats she tells him that scares him. Before you were born, she would abuse him, verbally. I sometimes think why he stayed with her all those years. Your father had it worse with his father whenever he was back home." It made me feel bad for my father. No wonder he's so closed off, barely showing his emotions and is the way he is.
"Why did he choose her?"
"Fiona was the only girl who was interested in him. If it weren't for Fiona getting into his head, I would like to believe your father would be with Lily, or someone better." We both jumped to hear arguing from downstairs. Lucas and I ran to the staircase and saw Fiona and my father fighting. "Stay here." Lucas tells me as he tries to stop the fight. "Stop this!"
"Do you really have what it takes to raise her?" My father growls as Lucas holds him back.
"Of course I do! What, you don't believe me?"
"No I don't." He gets out of Lucas' grip and gets in her face. Fionas lip twitched. "The only reason why you are here is to fulfill the dark lords wishes." What did he mean by that? Lucas pats on his arm and points at me, my father looks up to see me looking down at them.
