Ever since the death of Eleanor, Daphne and Wayne have been doing their own thing. They slept in different rooms, eat at different times, they only put on a smile, pretending to be a happy couple, only was when guests were over, such as his father.Wayne was mad at Daphne for still being in love with another man, even though she thought to be dead, and Daphne was mad at Wayne for leaving her alone during the most devastating time of her life. Whenever they pass ways, Daphne puffs up her chest and ignores him.
Wayne finally saw who Daphne really was. After all the stories he heard of her, how cruel she was, he finally saw her true side.
"Im leaving." I shouted, letting Wayne know. Before he could say anything, I slammed the door. I needed to get out of that home, I didn't want to be near him or just be in the same roof as Wayne. I was meeting Lisa at Hogsmeade to pick up some things. Lisa was standing by The Hogsmeade. Her smile widens as she sees me.
"There you are." She waits for me to come to her, linking her arm with mine. "It's a girls day, you don't have to worry about him. We can stay out all night so you won't see him." She cheered me up.
"You're right." We started out shopping for clothes, picking some new things for Lisa's and Blaise's new home, plants, and some other things. I stopped by a flower shop, they had such beautiful flowers.
"These are beautiful." Lisa started to pick some out. I choose the white lilies, red roses, and pink tulips for the home and to put on my fathers, Katherine's, and Nellies' graves. I gave the man the flowers so he can wrap them up. I stood there, looking around as people walked around, window shopping, having their kids by their sides. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw someone familiar walking out of the pub. The black suit, the way he walked. It was all too familiar.
"Here you go." The man smiles, bring me back to reality. I took another look but the familiar man was gone.
"Thank you." I handed him some change and waited for Lisa. We walked some more, entered more shops. Lisa loops her hand around mine and looked around. Lisa had to go early since Rolf was coming by. I headed back by myself, carrying the flowers tote bags.
I drove in the driveway of the castle, the car moved side to side because of the pebbles. I stayed in the car for a while, looking at it. Here I go, back inside, doing nothing but eyeing Wayne. I took a deep breath and got out of the car, taking all of my belongings with me. Just as I closed the door, I saw a man walking towards the castle.
"Can I help you?" I called out for the man. We were feet away, as soon as I got a good look, my heart dropped.the flowers and bags fell to the ground. "Draco." His head shot up. He looked at me as if I was a ghost.
"Darling." I ran to him, we collided, bumping to each other. Draco's hand grabbed my head, kissing my cheek. I sobbed onto his shoulder. It felt so good to be in his arms again, it felt like... home.
"I thought you were dead." I cried.
"I thought you were too." We pulled apart. Draco's laughs as he saw how Daphne didn't change, besides how short her hair was.
"How you been? There so much-"
"Lets go for a drink. There's so much to tell." I looked back at the castle, I can come later. I shoved the things that I dropped into the car and went off with Draco. After seeing him, I feel alive again. I grabbed onto Draco's arm as we headed to Hogsmeade again to have some drinks at the three broomsticks. We sat in the same booth where we had our first date, order some butterbeers.
"So." I tapped my hands onto the table. "After a year and a half, we thought we died and now here we are, sitting across from each other. Very much alive."
"I went to see Lucas but one of the witches said that he left for France."
"You were right there." I shook my head. "I went to the Manor but I couldn't bare to go. I thought I would only bring Narcissa pain if I showed my face."
"How could this happen?"
"A misunderstanding. I mean you thought Fiona killed me and Ron told me you ran into fire and didn't come out." They sat there in silence. They really let this slip under their noses. "What have you doing this whole time?"
"Started to work for the ministry, i never had a break, I barely saw anyone, i would be there or at home, resting. My father still has me around his finger, like always." He sighs, now taking off his suit jacket. He always looked good in all black. "I haven't been with anyone because when I do, all I can think of is that they weren't you." Draco looks at my hand, the one with the ring. "You're married..." his eyes fell. She moved on, only if he showed up a day earlier, he thought.
"Engaged." She plays with the ring. "His name is Wayne Laurent. You would hate him."
"Wayne Laurent." He said softly. It even sound better than his own. Sounded more richer, more good looking. "Enough about me, I want to hear about you." Daphne didn't know where to start.
"Well, Lucas and I lived in France, you would've love it there. Its so peaceful and quiet."
"What about Katherine?" That hit Daphne. He didn't know that she was gone.
"She died during the battle." Draco leaned back. He felt sorry, he knew how much Daphne loved Katherine. "Thats why me and Lucas left. There was so much grief, we decided to leave, take a break from this place. It was all good until we came back. I was pregnant, then Wayne he started to be upset with me..." i choked on my words. I looked down at my glass. "I was a mother. I had a daughter. Her name was Eleanor, Nellie." The sound of her name was just so warm. Draco reaches out for my hand and held it, rubbing his thumb back and forth. I wiped my tear off of my cheek.
"Im so sorry Darling." That name still gave me goosebumps. Was this wrong? Was it wrong that Im still in love with Draco? "You would've made a great mother." I chuckled as I tucked my hair behind my ear.
"Thank you Draco." I whispered to him. Draco looked at the locket, the same one he given me, and attached to it was the rings that he also gave me. He smiled as he knew that I didn't let him go. "Why were you coming to the castle?"
"Oh. I was heading back to see the man, the one with the glasses and curly hair, if I can have Lucas' address so I can contact him." I frowned. Back? "He said that he owned the place now since Lucas gave it to him." I was furious. Wayne knew. He looked through my things, knew what Draco looked like and kept this from me.
"You were there more than once?"
"This was my third time, but he keeps opening the door and pretty much slamming it in my face." I clenched my jaw. Draco saw my face. "Thats Wayne im guessing."
"I have to go, I need to have a chat." I grabbed my purse and strutted out. I'm going to show Wayne a side he wishes he never met. The real Daphne Snape.
