Everyone mourned for the loss of Cedric Diggory. Potter and Snape were the only ones that hit them the hardest. They both were there. Daphne never slept since that day. She kept saying it was her fault, she should've taken out Wormtail. She should've just taken Lucas' help."Where have you been? I've looking for you yesterday." Lisa ran up to me.
"Draco took me out, my father didn't want me there." I sniffed. Lisa didn't buy it.
"Something else happened." She puzzled together. I glanced at her.
"I dont want to do this right now Lisa." I walked passed her.
"Okay when? Because you've been different." I stopped. I cant tell her. I cant let her get hurt because of me.
"Leave it alone Scamander." I frowned. I hated this. She steps back. "Sorry." I closed my eyes. "I didn't mean to yell at you."
"I don't know whats going on with you."
"I don't either." I whispered to myself.
"You can tell me. Whenever you're ready." She placed her hand on my shoulder. I just nod. She went in the hall, and I waited for Draco.
Draco and Daphne walked in the room, sitting down, waiting for the other students to join. Daphne had her head down, playing with her rings. Draco didn't understand why she was so sad. He grabs her hand. Daphne looks at him with a small smile, barely noticeable.
"Today we acknowledge a really terrible loss. Cedric Diggory was as you all know, exceptionally hard
working, intricately fair minded." A tear fell from her face. She replayed the memory of Cedric. "And most importantly a fierce fierce friend. I think therefore you have the right to know exactly how he died. You see, Cedric Diggory was murdered by Lord Voldemort." Her head shot up. That name now haunts her. Everyone was gasping from the news. Draco held onto her hand tighter. "The ministry of magic does not wish me to tell you this. But not to do so I think would be an insult to his memory. Now the pain we all feel at this dreadful loss reminds me, reminds us that while we may come from different places and speak in different tongues, our hearts beat as one. In light of recent events the bonds of friendship we made this year will be more important than ever. Remember that and Cedric Diggory will not have died in vain, you remember that. And we'll celebrate a boy who was kind and honest and brave and true right to the very end."✷ ✷ ✷
I sat in my fathers office, alone with him. I didn't say a word to him since that day.
"Do you remember how she looked like?" He asked me. I wiped my nose with my sleeve.
"She had black hair, wavy, but not too curly. Shes taller than me but shorter than you." I listed. "She smelled like lavender and fire whiskey. It was same woman who gave me the mark." He got choked up.
"You didn't do-"
"I stood there." I cut him off. "I froze. I couldve saved him. Its my fault he died. Mine. I killed Cedric."
"She did. You didnt." He stands up.
"What does this mean now? He's really back." Silent. More than Severus would tell his daughter that every will be alright but he knows he can't lie. He wanted to kill Barty Jr for taking her, he wanted to kill the person who said she should be a death eater. At this point, he was failing her.
"Yes." He finally looks at his daughter with fear. "Ill do everything on my power to not let you do anything like that again."
"Youre not seriously thinking of going to talk to him?"
