Happy New Years!! I hope you all have a wonderful night and thank you!
Draco didn't show up for class today, he was feeling under the weather and well, I begged to stay with him but he said that ill be behind with my work and doesn't want to bore me by staying in the room all day.
We started making a new potion today in class. Potter and I stood far away, didn't exchange words. We just made our potion in silence but when Slughorn walks around, we pretend to have a conversation.
"I have to say Potter, im surprised that you know how make this." I hummed as I added the wolfsbane into the cauldron. He looks up, surprised. "Im impressed."
"Uh thanks?" He gulped. "You're doing amazing by the way."
"I know." I looked at his book, the pages were written on, a familiar writing i knew. He stepped back to get more ingredients, I took a peek. I chuckled. It was my father's handwriting. I opened it to the front page and saw that it belong to the half blood prince. It was definitely my father's. The books back home always had 'belongs to the half blood prince'. Potter was making his way back and i turned the page back to where it was before. "Say Potter, if you know how make potions and their use, whats moonseed?"
"I-i-" he looked through the book. I closed it and looked at him.
"A liar." I whispered to him. "Potter, the next time you want to impress the professor, do what you do best. Potions isn't your thing." His nose twitched, his jaw clenching, i laughed at the sight. "I mean, if you are so good at potions, please finish." I grabbed his book. "Without this." I teased him. I watched him as he struggled with the amounts and which belongs in what bottle. I watched him dice the lavender up. "You're doing it wrong."
"How am I doing it wrong? Im cutting it. How can you cut wrong?"
"You're dicing. When you dice, you cut up the ingredient into smaller pieces, which means they're not going to be as powerful. It loses its meaning i should say." I walked up to him, showing him how to cut it properly. He turns red.
"It said to dice." He complains as I took a step back.
"Give it a try." I crossed my arms. Potter drops the lavender into the cauldron and it exploded. He watched me drop mine, and it came out perfectly. Class was up. "Guess you need this to pass the class then." He reached for it, but I backed up. "I wont tell Slughorn that you've been cheating. You're welcome." I threw the book and headed out. "Oh and Potter? Good work, for real." He mumbled something, but I couldn't care less.
I've studied all day in the common room since I didn't have a lot to do. I did take a few breaks here and there, I didn't pay attention to the time. It was late, 2 in the morning late.
"Hey." I jumped as Blaise touched my shoulder.
"Merlins Blaise!" I smacked his chest. "Shouldn't you be asleep?"
"I would ask you the same thing." He smiles.
"What are you smiling about?"
"Lisa wants to take us to the room of requirements. Lets go." I closed my book and headed out. We quietly walked to the door, we were greeted by Lisa.
"Lisa Scamander, breaking the rules?" I joked.
"It feels good!" She laughs. "Come on!" We walked behind Lisa, leading us. "Your father does the nightly walks right?"
"Hopefully he doesn't catch us." We made our way to the second floor, the hallway full of paintings.
"Hey!" We heard. I turned back to see my father. I shoved Blaise and Lisa into the little hallway. "If you don't show yourselves you all will receive 3 months detention." We held in our giggles. "Thats it." I heard him coming our way.
