My father and I just came from spying on Potter. He was hiding in his old home in Privet Drive. I watched as his abusive uncle and aunt were moving out. I stayed low, letting my father do the work. It was honestly boring. Now, we had to go and report back to Voldemort. We appeared at the Malfoy Manor. We made our way to the gate, then my father and I lift our hands with our wands. The iron gates turn to smoke. We walked past through it. Now entering the Manor. We strutted through the halls. The door opens and I gulped at the sight. Everyone had their eyes on us. The laugh and chattering simmered down.
Fiona had a smirk, Lucas looked exhausted and Draco, well, scared out of his wits. I saw the two empty spots at the table. My eyes went up as I saw Miss Burbage floating in mid air.
"Severus. Daphne." Voldemort smiles at us. I looked at him. "I was beginning to worry you had lost your way. Come, we've saved you a seat." I took a deep breath and sat down by Fiona. She pats my cheek and put her hand on the back of my neck, making me still. The grip around my neck was tight. "You bring news, I trust?"
"It will happen Saturday next, at nightfall." My father told him.
"I've heard differently, my Lord." Corban Yaxley stuck up. "Dawlish, the Auror, has let slip that the Potter boy will not be moved until the 30th of this month. The day before he turns 17."
"That is a lie." I said. Everyone looked at me. "My father is telling the truth. Believe it or not. I was there."
"And you think we can trust you?"
"You dont trust my word? Is it because I'm his daughter or because I'm a girl?" That made Corban shut up. I focused on my father, letting him continue.
"The Auror Office no longer plays any part in the protection of Harry Potter. Those closest to him believe we have infiltrated the Ministry."
"Well, they got that right, haven't they?" One laughs and others joined. I cracked my knuckles, my father held my hand, telling me to let it go.
"What say you, Pius?" Voldemort looks at the end of the table. Heads turned. He gulped as he looked at Nagini who was by his side.
"One hears many things, my Lord. Whether the truth is among them is not clear."
"Heh. Spoken like a true politician. You will, I think, prove most useful, Pius." The long silence was just uncomfortable. "Where will he be taken, the boy?"
"To a safe house. Most likely the home of someone in the Order." Katherine is probably there now. "I'm told it's been given every manner of protection possible. Once there, it will be impractical to attack him."
"Ahem." Bellatrix coughs, making herself known. "My Lord. I'd like to volunteer myself for this task. I want to kill the boy." We all heard a scream coming from below.
"Wormtail!" I jumped from the booming sound of his voice. "Have I not spoken to you about keeping our guest quiet?"
"Yes, my Lord. Right away, my Lord." He scattered away.
"As inspiring as I find your bloodlust, Bellatrix, I must be the one to kill Harry Potter." She hides, sinking into her chair. "But I face an unfortunate complication. That my wand and Potter's share the same core." Voldemort stands up from his seat and walks slowly around the table. Everyone put their heads down, not making any eye contact. "They are, in some ways, twins. We can wound, but not fatally harm one another. If I am to kill him I must do it with another's wand. Come, surely one of you would like the honor?" Draco and I looked at each other. Just to make us calm. We didn't look away, I was just so focused on him, and he was so focused on me. My heart started to beat faster as Voldemort stops behind him. "What about you, Lucius?" The knot in my stomach untied as he said the name Lucius.
"My Lord?" Lucius whimpers as he was caught by surprise.
"My Lord?" Voldemort mocks him. "I require your wand." Lucius pulls his wand from his walking stick, slowly passing it to him. "Do I detect elm?"
"Yes, my Lord." He snaps the wand, making Lucius flinch.
"And the core?" He inspects it more.
"Dragon. Ahem." He coughs. He acts so tough around us but he's a bitch whenever he's near Voldemort. What a shame. "Dragon heartstring, my Lord."
"Dragon heartstring." He tosses the wand onto the table. "Mm." He walks around table again, now behind me and Fiona. I gripped my fathers hand tighter. "Daphne? May I?" He reaches his hand out. I reached for my wand from my boot and handed to him. "More like a weapon than a wand." He jokes. He looks more, feeling it. "Is this? Alder?"
"Yes my lord." I choked. "If I must say, I would love to give you my wand my lord but if you use it, I will not be able to get the boy for you. I need my wand." Merlins why did I say that? He would probably just kill me right here with my own wand.
"I suppose you are right." He gently puts my wand down in front of me. Fiona whispers to my ear, you did so good. Then started playing around with my hair. Voldemort went back to his seat and sat down. "To those of you who do not know we are joined tonight by Miss Charity Burbage who, until recently, taught at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Her specialty was Muggle Studies." Everyone started laughing as she floated onto the table. "It is Miss Burbage's belief that Muggles are not so different from us. She would, given her way have us mate with them." Everyone groaned in disgust. Last time I checked you're a half blood. "To her, the mixture of magical and Muggle blood is not an abomination but something to be encouraged."
"Severus." She cries out in a whisper. I looked at her. She was so scared. In so much pain. "Severus, please. We're friends." My father stayed still, not saying a word.
"Avada Kedavra!" Draco and I jumped as her body fell on the table. "Nagini. Dinner." I looked away, I saw Lucas closing his eyes. We all stood up and left. I waited by my father, Lucas and Fiona. Soon as I saw Draco, i ran for it. I wrapped my arms around him, my head hiding in his neck. It left safer in his arms. I heard footsteps. I stopped, pushed Draco back. He was confused and he saw why. "True love." Voldemort awes as he saw Draco and I holding hands. "Im actually pleased to see you both together." He smiles. "You think they're a lovely couple Lucius?"
"Yes, very." He gulps.
"What do you think if they were to get married? Would you accept?" Draco was having trouble breathing.
"I would have no problem." Lucius lies. Voldemort than looks at my father.
"If she is happy, I'll have no problem." My father nods.
"Oh how wonderful." Voldemort then leaves. The air was now breathable. Draco kisses my forehead as he watched Voldemort leave into the dark hall.
