My father called for all the Slytherin students to the astronomy tower. Mcgonagall got the Gryffindors, Flitwick got the Ravenclaws and Sprout got the Hufflepuffs. The girls on one side and the boys across."Whats this about?" I asked Julia who save me a seat.
"Dont know yet." My father walks in, looking at every one of us.
"The yule ball has been a tradition of the tri-wizard tournament since its inception." Did he say Ball? My face lit up. "On Christmas eve night we and our guests gather in the great hall for well mannered frivolity. As representatives of the host school I expect each and every one of you to put your best foot forward, and I mean this literally because the yule ball is first and foremost... a dance."Groans emerge from the boys who are listening on. The girls seem a lot more excited. I smiled, clapping my hands. Im definitely asking Katherine to send me a dress for this!
"A ball!" The girls shrieked.
"Silence." He yells at us. "The house of Godrick Gryffindore has commanded the respect of the wizard world for nearly ten centuries." He rolled his eyes. "I will not have you all ruining the night by doing something that will so stupid that you'll have detention until the school year ends." I have to be good now. "Now to dance you have to..." he sighs. i knew my father hated these things. "I am here to teach you how to dance." The boys rolled their eyes. "Daphne." My eyes widen. Everyone chuckled. I pretended not to hear my name, looking the other way. Then, my father grabs my vest and centers me in the middle. My face turned red as Draco laughs.
"Please father." I begged. He ignored me.
"Grab my hand." I pushed down my sleeves, so did my father. The students saw how identical they are, to the facial expressions, the way they crossed their arms, to the walk, to the talking, and even the way the pushed down their sleeves. It was scary. I placed my hand on his shoulder and held his hand. God this was embarrassing. Dancing with my father. "Now bend your arm..." My father turns on the record player, The music starts. "Stop stepping on my feet." He tells me. I was too embarrassed, i kept looking down. Im good a dancing, i swear. "One two three, one two three, one two three." We started dancing. My father stopped and I stood there, head down, looking at my feet. "Everybody come together." The girls instantly stand and walk forward, the boys are all still seated. "Gentlemen, on your feet or you'll be failing my class." My eyes looked up as Draco made his way to me. I gave him a smile, until someone yanked my hair back, making me fall.
"Why you little witchy pug faced cockroach!" I snarled at Pansy who took my spot. Draco helped me up.
"Miss Parkinson, outside!" My father kicked her out. She bumps into me and leaves. "Are you alright dear?"
"Yes father, I am now." I stared back at Draco. We stood together, his hand on my waist, my hand on his shoulder and we held hands. I could probably faint right now. The music replayed and we started to dance. Draco kept looking down, trying not to step on my feet. I actually got to show off.
"How are you this good?"
"Katherine." He dips me. He pulls me back and we were close again. I can taste the cologne. Draco kept thinking, this is the moment. Do it. Kiss her.
"Too close!" My father smacks our heads. They pulled apart. There goes their moment. After the practice was over, my father pulls me to the side.
"Hey, everything okay?" I asked him.
"Follow me." I shrugged and walked with him. We went to his office. "I want you to close your eyes."
"Okay?" I shut them. I heard the door open and my fathers hands on my shoulders. He then closes the door. "Can I open them?"
