Ever since Wayne and I became a thing, the happier I got. He made me feel better, made me feel like a new person. He's sweet, gentle. Wayne wasn't scared to show anyone that we were together. It took a while for me to come out and be comfortable since it was all too new to me still. At times, I do still shut myself down, I can't afford to lose another person close to me, after Draco, I can't face that type of guilt and emotions again.
Wayne had asked me out on a date, it was early and he wanted to spend the whole day together. One thing about Wayne, he likes to travel, likes to be out. So we spend our days outside, taking walks, swim in the lake, having lunch and late dinner, and shopping. He likes the outdoors.
"Wayne is here." Lucas taps on my door. I touched up my lipstick and headed down. Wayne was with Lucas, talking.
"Hello Wayne." I placed a kiss on his cheek.
"Hello Nini." He had given me flowers. They were pretty. "Uh don't worry Mister Cox, we won't be home late."
"Take her, please. She spends too much time in her room." He jokes.
"I don't even bother you, you're the one bothering me." Wayne smiles and takes me outside. We started to walk more into the town. "Sorry about my uncle, he's something else."
"No worries." He cracks a smile. "Lucas seems cool. He really loves you."
"He does." Wayne wraps his arm around my shoulders, walking down the stone path. He had planned to take me to see this water fountain that he had been talking about. As we got closer, a bunch of people was standing in front of it, taking pictures, kissing.
"Isn't beautiful? It's even beautiful at night." We got closer and it was beautiful. The statues hovered over the water, looking down. There was nothing like this back home, nothing. Wayne couldn't take his eyes off me since the start. He started to kiss my cheek, I started to laugh. I wrapped my arm around him, pulling him closer.
"Where to Mr. Laurent?" Wayne grabs my hand and takes me out of the crowd. We stopped somewhere to eat, it was the same place where he invited me to when we first met.
"Have I mention how lovely you look today?" My face started to turn red, my cheeks burning.
"You are something else." I scrunched my nose. Wayne looked down at the necklace. "What is it?"
"Your locket." He points out. "I have never seen you without it." I played around with it.
"It was a gift, from Draco." I coughed out. I really didn't know if he liked me talking about him. Wayne seems to get quiet whenever I say his name, even though he knew about his death. "It's just something to remember him by."
"Of course." He forced a smile and drank his wine. When we finished, we headed back to my home. Lucas was gone, probably on a date, per usual. I took Wayne's hand took him upstairs to my room. We laid on my bed, looking through my journals. He was stunned by my artwork.
"I'll get us something to drink." Daphne kissed him as she went to go downstairs. Wayne saw a different journal on her nightstand, decided to take a peek. He flipped through the pages, noticing it was all of one person. This had to be Draco, he thought. Wayne saw so many drawings of him, his bowl-cut hair, one in his quidditch sweater, and one of him sleeping. Why was Wayne jealous of him? A photo slides off the book and Wayne looks at it. It was the two of them, Draco and Daphne at the Yule Ball. She looks way happier with him than with Wayne. "Wayne!" He gathers the photo, putting back the journal where it was before. He opened the door and helped Daphne with the drinks. "Thank you." She shared a smile. Wayne gets up, walking behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist.
"What's this?" He looks at the desk, picking up a piece of parchment. It was a drawing of himself.
"I drew that on the day at the beach." Daphne turns to him. Wayne pulls her closer to him.
"You are the most beautiful girl I ever seen." He whispers.
"I hope so." She whispers back. Wayne put the parchment paper back on the desk, pulling Daphne to the bed. She smiles as she sees that his glasses started to fog up but it still didn't stop Wayne.
