I fixed my black hair, pushing the wavy front strands to the back. I smoothed the short, velvet, long sleeve, slit on the side, dress that I picked out earlier this morning from the back of my closet. I looked at the time, i was already late. I tied my heels and made my way out and meet Potter. I saw him standing, waiting nervously. I tapped on his shoulder, making myself known. He turns, starstruck. I just looked at the door, wanting this to be over already.

"I thought you weren't going to come." He whispers.

"Slughorn invited us, why wouldn't I go." We stood there silently. It was getting awkward again. "We go our separate ways." I told him again, he just nods. "How do I look? Do I look alright?" I asked him, fixing my hair.

"You look beautiful... you are beautiful." He chokes up. I slowly turned to him, getting a good look at him. He was wearing a burgundy button up, with a matching tie. His hair plopped down, but showing off his lighting bolt like scar.

"Um thanks." I looked away. I looked back at his glasses, they were dirty, a bit foggy. "Your glasses, they're-" I tried to grab them, but backing up since I didn't want to touch him.

"What?" He was confused.

"They're dirty. Let me." I took them off his face, breathing on them, wiping them clean with my dress. Potter watched her, he never seen this side of Daphne before. He didn't know if he should be looking at her as if she's the only girl in the world or his enemy. But he did like this side of her. Daphne slowly puts his glasses on him, making him blink repeatedly. "There."

"Uh thanks."

"My uncle once said to me before, you must show up looking presentable to any occasion, everything must be put together, your shoes, your hair, and even your glasses. You'll never know what will happen."

"Right." Potter breathes out. He clears his throat and puts his arm out, for Daphne to take. Before she did, Daphne senses something in the corner. She looked back, nothing. It felt like she was being watched. She gently rubs it off, maybe its the ghosts roaming around, she takes his arm and they both walked in. The party was filled with students and staff, laughing, drinking, and talking. Then my eyes fell on my father. I quickly let go of Potter.

"Harry! Daphne!" Slughorn smiles, walking towards us. Oh no, I can't walk away now! "Nice to see you here together! Let's take a picture!"

"Wait no photos!" I tried to stop him but the flash went off. Too late.

"Wonderful! Enjoy!" He then walks away. I rolled my eyes and looked to see Lisa. I scuffed, making my way to her.

"Lisa?" She turns to me, she stuffed her mouth with pastries that were on the table. "What are you doing here?" I knew the answer. Blaise.

"Blaise invited me." She turned red. I wiggled my eyebrows. "Oh stop it! We just came as friends."

"Sure you did."

"Come on!" She grabs my hand and made our way to Blaise. We had some drinks, talking about classes. "Did you really came with Harry?" Lisa bumped her shoulder to my arm.

"Sadly." I chugged my drink.

"Calm down Daphne, nobody is gonna say anything." Blaise tells me. "Live on the edge."
