Its been two weeks and the word that Daphne and Draco were dating spread fast. Nobody really saw it coming since they always teased each other which was another story. Daphne and draco dont show off as much of their relationship. They kept it under the table. It seemed like they didn't change, they still hung out with their friends, teased Potter and Granger.Draco made whoever sat next to Daphne switch seats with him. He wanted to sit next to her and Daphne didn't mind. In classes, they would secretly hold hands or pinkys. Draco had some doubts time to time. He thought that she deserved better, why him? A broken boy. Only thing, Daphne was the same, a broken girl.
"My father will find out." I said as I played with Dracos hair as we sat in the common room.
"And?" He sassed.
"My father, Professor Severus Snape? The head of Slytherin? The Potions teacher?"
"What is he going to do to me?" I started thinking. Poison him, kill him, zap him. The list goes on. Draco sits up and saw me thinking. "Dont be scaring me now." I laughed.
"I would never let him hurt you." I stood up and gathered my things. "Ill see you later right?"
"Yes, we'll walk together to the lake." I nodded and gave him a quick kiss. "See you later Darling." Leaving with a blushed smile. I made my way to my fathers office to talk. I knocked and went in. I saw that he was making some new potions since the caldron was boiling. He walks in to see me hovering over.
"What are you making?" He slaps my hand as I went reach for a flower. "Ouch." I rubbed it.
"Its for a class." He stares at me. He knew that I was here to tell something. But he doesn't know what that something was. "Arent you supposed to be getting ready to go see the tournament?" He crossed his arms.
"I have an hour to spare. I thought to myself, how do I spend my hour? Oh i know, here with my father." I mocked him as I crossed my arms.
"Say it." He sits down.
"Okay." I walked up to his desk. "So promise me you wont get mad. Okay? You wont kill this person either."
"Thats a big promise."
"Father." I sighed. "Just promise." He sighs. It means a yes. "Okay, um. Im just going to come out with it." I started to pace. "Im dating someone. And that someone is named Draco." I gave off a nervous smile. He sat there, unamused. "Well, thought you should know. Goodbye." I started bolting to the door.
"Sit down." He looks at me. I closed the door and walked slowly to the chair. "Malfoy?" I nodded. "What happened to you not wanting to date?"
"Well people change. And im people. And im happy."
"When?"
"After the yule ball. Draco is a wonderful boy."
"You deserve love deeper than the ocean." I looked at him. He read the letter. My letter. "Are you really happy?"
"Yes. Draco is the reason why I havent been sad. And being with him makes me-" he puts his hand up. He didn't want to hear what his daughter go on about a boy. I chuckled. "Give him a chance." I said as I walked away. I made my way to the lake to see Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle. Draco reached out and held my hand. We walked in to Fred and George, shouting for bets. We got to the stands and leaned on his shoulder.
"Welcome to the second task. Last night something was stolen from each of our champions. A treasure of sorts. These four treasures, one for each champion, now lie on the bottom of the black lake. In order to win each champion need only find their
treasure and return to the surface. Simple enough. Except for this, they will have one hour to do so and one hour only. After that they'll be on their own." Everyone waved, besides Potter who looked like he was going to throw up. "You may begin at the start
of the cannon." The cannon fires and the champions enter the water, three of them dive in while Harry was pushed."Whats the point of these if you cant see what's happening?" I pouted.
"The Beauxbatons champion Miss Delacour has unfortunately been forced to retire. She will take no further part in this task." I saw her come out of the water. Cedric and Cho emerge, the crowd cheers. Viktor and Hermione next, the crows chants 'Krums name. The Beauxbatons girls look worried. Weasley and the girl come up, they are coughing but safe. They're helped out of the water by a girl from Beauxbatons. No sign of Potter.
"Where is he?" I heard people around us. Potter then flies out and lands on the decking where the crowd are.
"Attention! Attention! The winner is..." We waited. "Mr Diggory!" Cedric and his friends cheer. I slowly clapped for him. "For showing unique command of the bubblehead shark. The way I see it, Mr Potter would have finished first had it not been for his determination to rescue not only Mr Weasly but the others as well. We've agreed to award him second place! For outstanding moral fibre." We frowned. Everyone around us cheered. Draco looked at a kid as he cheered, and stomps off. We followed him out.
"Daphne!" I heard my father yell out. We looked back. He took my arm and away from the boys. "Let me see your arm." I looked back at Draco, who was trying to see what was going on. We turned our backs to them. I rolled up my sleeve and showed the mark. "How long?"
"Since the night of the ball." He sighs. "What does this mean father?" He storms off. I pulled down my sleeve as I felt an arm around my waist.
"What was that about?" Draco asked.
"Family business." I lied. I touched my arm as I saw Igor grabbed my father and walked away. Why cant he just tell me.
