CHAPTER 61 : Moving In

GILBERT AND ANNE had just arrived back to Avonlea from their honeymoon. They wanted to see the world but could only afford so much. They had decided to go to England and they loved it there. They spent at least 2 weeks there until they decided that they should go back home.

"So How was your honeymoon?" Diana Asked with a smile. Anne sighed and sat down on a chair in her living room. "Amazing. I loved every second of it. Now we're back here and we're moving into a house together? That's crazy!" Anne laughed with Diana. Cole walked in with all of Anne's writing supplies and asked where he should put them. "In the office upstairs. First door to your left" Anne told him. He nodded his head and walked up the stairs excited. He hadn't seen this house yet and was intrigued of what it looked like.

"Looks like we got everything here. Now we just need to unpack it all" Gilbert said with a chuckle. He walked over to anne and kissed her cheek before grabbing a bag and walking upstairs. Anne smiled and followed him with a bag in her hand as well.

"So where do you want the bed to go?" Gilbert Asked. Anne pointed to the window. "Hmm. Maybe against the window. Or we could have it on this wall and when we wake up the sun will shine on us" Anne smiled walking around their bedroom. It was all so unreal. They'd never really slept in a bed together. Only time they did was their honeymoon. Rachel told them that they probably should since when they got back home they would be.

"This is so amazing" Anne whispered to herself while staring out the window. Gilbert walked up behind her and smiled at the girl. It felt like yesterday when she had accepted to court him. He put his arm around her and kissed her forehead. Diana walked up the stairs since she was left downstairs alone.

"Hey guys. So Ruby just came in and said that her and moody had a huge surprise. They want you both there. AND COLE!" Diana told the two and yelled for Cole. They nodded their heads with a smile and followed Diana down the stairs.

"Hey guys" Ruby said looking around at their friends. They were outside of Anne and Gilbert's new home. Jane, Tillie, Diana, Cole, Anne, Gilbert and Josie were all there. They were all confused yet excited to see what the surprise was.

"So we have been waiting to tell you this. We didn't want to tell you when we found out because it would've taken away from Anne and Gilbert's wedding" moody explained. Anne and Gilbert looked at each other with a smile as Gilbert put his arm around Anne.

"Sooo, we're here to tell you. I'm pregnant!" Ruby yelled. Everyone stood there for a second. Of course Anne was the first to speak. She wanted to break the silence since it was a bit awkward.

"Congrats you guys! Come here!" Anne said as she gestured for them for a hug. The whole group joined .
"We're both glad you guys are happy!" Moody said relieved. They all have them a confused look before Jane Asked the question everyone was thinking. "Why wouldn't we be happy?"
"It's your baby!" Anne said looking at the both of them. "We'll love them so much!" Anne finished. Ruby and moody smiled at their friends.

"We were worried you guys would tell us that we were too young" ruby answered. Moody put his arm around ruby making sure she was okay. She seemed to be fidgeting a lot .

"I got pregnant before you and no one said anything. We're all just so happy for you guys!" Diana said. They both smiled and the group talked for a while. Anne and Gilbert had set up a little seating area in their backyard.

There was a picnic table and a fire pit. The scenery was beautiful, all trees and sky. You could hear birds chirping and everyone talking amongst themselves .

"Okay Moody you have to admit that you knew Gilbert had a thing for Anne" Cole said. Moody shrugged his shoulders and took a sip from his water.

"I had a feeling but didn't know for sure. Once they started courting then I knew he did" he replied. Everyone laughed and of course moody didn't understand but carried on.
