•That Pig•

1 month had passed . Anne and Marilla has Matthews funeral. There was a lot of crying and sobbing . Gilbert made sure anne doing alright the passed few days after. Rachel had come over to green gables everyday with a new thing to nag Anne about. The new thing was the pig Matthew and Marilla had gotten Anne . It had been wondering through Rachel's front and back yard for days.

As Anne and Diana walked on a path Diana had big news for Anne.

"Okay . Please please don't get mad at me" Diana said while grabbing Anne's hands. Anne nodded her head with a smile.

"Fred proposed" Diana said with a huge smile. Anne furrowed her eyebrows and stepped back.

"Are you still going to college?" Anne asked. Diana nodded her head feeling upset that Anne wasn't too excited about her engagement.

"Okay good . I wouldn't want you to miss college. And Fred? You two had never even spoken before" Anne said as Diana rolled her eyes.

"Anne , he's kind and thoughtful. You should get to know him better. Him and Gilbert would make good friends" Diana tried to sound all grown up. Anne didn't like that everyone around her was growing up so fast. She would've been more happier if Diana accepted after college. She believed school is far more important than love.

"Well I'm happy for you Diana. Cole and I get to start planning!" Anne said with a smile. Diana shook her head with a frown.

"Freds mother wants to plan it. She said she's been waiting for this for a while and didn't want anything to be different than she thought of" Diana sighed . Anne still upset knew that Diana didn't mean for that to happen. Anne turned her head and caught a small glimpse of something pink heading towards Rachel's backyard.

"Diana! Oh goodness me. Help!" Anne bolted towards to fence and hopped it . Diana ran after her . They didn't even care about their dresses . Diana knew that catching this pig meant a lot for Anne. She didn't want to be bothered by Rachel any longer.

The two caught the pig but in result they both slipped in the mud and got covered. They laughed for a while and got up to walk the pig back to the green gables farm. The way there they talked for a while and saw Gilbert and Moody in front of them.

"What in the heck Anne. What are you doing?" Gilbert laughed seeing Anne covered in mud. Anne shrugged her shoulders and smiled. She looked over at the pig and saw that it ate the leash and was already gone.

"Ugh!! Now where is it?" Anne said looking behind her with an annoyed face. Moody couldn't help but laugh at the two girls .

"Anne don't worry . Moody and I will look for it . You and Diana should probably go get cleaned up. You know Marilla will scold you for this" Gilbert chuckled and placed his hand on Anne shoulder. Anne nodded her head and smiled.

"Alright you two. You better be at green gables with that pig" anne said with a rather angry tone. The two boys nodded their heads and started walking.

"Oh Diana . Marilla is going to be so mad with me. This dress was the dress I was supposed to wear on the first day to queens" Anne said with a sigh. Diana furrowed her eyebrows and looked at Anne.

"Well then why are you wearing it?" Diana asked with a small laugh.

"Because! It looked too dazzling I just couldn't help myself. I mean it's been staring at me for months!" Anne said looking up and seeing green gables. She turned to Diana.

"Okay. Marilla isn't home yet but your parents are. We need to wash of here and you can borrow one of my dresses" Anne said telling Diana what to do. Diana nodded her head .
