It was dawn an Anne had just put her coat and boots on. She was going out to get her gift for Gilbert ( since he's her secret giver) . She walked up to Jerry
" hey Jerry . Isn't it a amazing day out today. The trees are so beautif-" Jerry tolled his eyes . He knew Anne wanted something from him
"What do you want Anne? I don't have this much time!" Anne smiled.

"Well if you must know , we are doing secret giver in our school and I got ...... Gilbert ( Anne sped up while saying Gilbert) and i need to get him a gift . Would you be ever so caring and giving me a ride to Charlotte town?" Jerry said yes. Anne hopped on the horse . Anne thought of what she was going to get Gilbert

Gilbert's POV

Gilbert was already in Charlotte town getting the dress for Anne . It was pink with big puff sleeves . It had some jewels around the neck and around the arms. Gilbert smiled when he thought of Anne wearing the dress

All of the sudden Gilbert looked up and he was on the ground

He had bumped into anne! How embarrassing!

Gilbert stood up and offered his hand. Knowing Anne she said
" no thank you . Well I better be off getting a gift for my secret giver!" Gilbert laughed. He hadn't thought of who Anne might of gotten. Maybe Diana ? Or Jane? Definitely not Josie , she wouldn't be this happy. Well not me , she wouldn't be this happy either if it was me.
"Oh I was too. I got yo- my secret giver something I know they'll really like" Gilbert and Anne looked at each other for a while , just standing there outside of the store Gilbert had just came out of. Anne finally said

" um what do you like? I know you told me you wanted to be a doctor and you were studying to be one but wouldn't be Devine to travel the world? Or to write a book ? Or- oh what's your favourite book. Mine is definitely Jane Eyre"

Gilbert had told her he liked any book. Then they said their goodbyes and parted ways.

The next day 

"Hello mrs Stacy!"
Anne had said . Her and Gilbert were the first ones to arrive at school. 

"Anne , I love you but sometimes you act um how do I put this is a nice way.. a little out of it? Where's your present for your secret giver?" Anne looked at mrs Stacy . "Oh no no no no no ! I forgot it at green gables . I'm ever so sorry . I was just pretending to be a princess locked up in a castle. When Marilla called me down for breakfast I must of forgotten it , I'll run now and grab it!" Anne started to get her coat and boots on.
"Non sense . You can't go alone. Gilbert will walk with you." Gilbert looked over at Mrs . Stacy. Mrs.stacy gave him a wink .

When Anne and Gilbert got to green gables it looked like there was something coming out of the door. "Gilbert? Does that look like smoke to you?" Anne looked up at Gilbert . He didn't know what to say. All of the sudden Anne ran into green gables.
"ANNE!" Gilbert ran after her. There was so much smoke thst he couldn't see anything. He finally found the railing and held it until he got up the stairs. "ANNE?"
He looked everywhere upstairs until Anne's room. They she was grabbing all of her belongings. "Anne come on. We need to get out of here!" Gilbert grabbed her arm and tugged her out.

Two hours later

The fire had gone out. Almost the whole town was at green gables. All the men were putting the fire out while the women would put the water in the buckets and hand it to the men. Gilbert looked at Anne. She had tears down her eyes. " hey ! It'll be okay! Look only the upstairs and the dining room was burnt. They said it'll take 2 or so months to repair." Gilbert reassured Anne. He put his hand on her shoulder. She looked at him and gave him a hug. When she finally let go she said
