•When can I see you? •

Dear Anne ,                        Sept 3rd 1899

I've missed you too. I can't wait until the day that I get to see you again. It's been a few weeks now and everything here in New York is just so boring without you. I don't really go on walks anymore. It was more fun when you were still here.

Miss Stacy arrived a few days ago. It's definitely weird living a door down from your old teacher. I guess since Miss Stacy's here you took the teaching job! How's it going? Do you see any Anne's in the class?

Anyways I have to leave soon , for work and all. I can't wait to hear from you again. Love you Carrots.

Anne opened the letter. It was September 18th . She'd been waiting for almost a month to hear from Gilbert , which was a complete agony. Once she saw the mailman she was filled with joy. Marilla was still the same. Though sometimes she's gotten up and walked around the house. Anne was glad that Marilla was staying the same. At least she wasn't getting worse.

"Okay students. Today we'll be doing some English reading. Pull out your books that I gave you on the first day I arrived. It should be named , Jane Eyre" Anne smiled , she would've loved it if when she was some of their ages that had read Jane Eyre. Instead they always read those dumb books that Mr Phillips had assigned them.

One kid rose their hand "Um Miss Shirley-Cuthbert. I can't find mine" a girl with blonde hair and freckles all over her cheeks said kindly. Anne smiled and picked up her book off of her desk.

"Here you go , you can borrow mine while you look for yours" Anne have the girl the book and walked back up to the front. It was silent. As the students read by themselves Anne had started to write a letter to Gilbert.

Dear Gilbert ,

Yes I did take the teaching job. So far it's going great. I've been here for almost a week now and the students are very well behaved. I've got them reading Jane Eyre. I would've dreamed of reading the book in school.

I wish I could go and visit in New York. I'm just afraid that once I do something will happen to Marilla and I wouldn't be there to help her. Believe me , I miss you with all my heart. I wish that the next 8 months could just fly by .

Everything here in Avonlea is going great. Diana and Fred are doing well , their baby is healthy as well. Ruby and Moody are expecting a baby as well! I can't believe that ruby and moody are going to be parents. Also Diana and Fred.

I got to go , some of the students are done reading the chapter. I love you .

October 13th

Gilbert was so excited when he opened his mailbox and found a letter. He was determined that it was from Anne. He ran up the stairs and said hello to miss Stacy who was getting back from her school.

He shut his door and sat down on his bed with the letter in his hand. He had a small smile across his face and staring at the letter. He started to open it and got even more excited once he found out that it was indeed from Anne.

He was under so much stress with his career that he really just wanted to talk with Anne. He read the letter very carefully. He was proud of Anne , taking on the teaching job at Avonlea. When Anne went to Avonlea he knew that she didn't expect to be working . She expected to be staying at home with Marilla all day long.

Gilbert walked over to his small desk which was pushed up against a corner in his room. He sat down on the wooden chair and pulled out his pen and ink. Then his paper and wrote the date and who he was writing to.
