•The holidays•

4 months had past . Anne was packing up all her winter clothes and boots. She was taking the train back to Avonlea with Diana for Christmas.

"Oh Diana. Won't it just be marvellous. Marilla must be bored out of her mind!" Anne said as she opened the door and placed her suitcase outside the dorm room.

"You ready?" Diana asked. Anne nodded her head and they both grabbed their bags and shut the door.

It had been almost an hour since they got on the train. Anne and Diana were talking non stop about Ruby's and Moody's wedding. They were talking so much about it that Anne had forgotten that gilbert was coming for Christmas .

"Diana . I forgot . Gilbert will be there . Oh it's been so long . You get to see Fred , I get to see Gilbert. Ruby and moody are getting married. We're going back to Avonlea for a week. Life just couldn't be better!" Anne smiled and looked out the window. Diana nodded her head and yawned. The two girls had woken up so early to pack up all their things that Diana felt like she could fall asleep on the train.

The train had stopped. People were grabbing their suitcases and bags to get off the train . Anne and Diana were one of the last people to get off. Which made the person waiting for them outside the train a little impatient. Anne stepped down the stairs looking at her feet to make sure she wouldn't trip. Diana's mouth dropped open in shock. She stepped down without making any noise waiting for Anne to notice. Anne looked at Diana with confusion and followed where her eyes were staring at. Once she saw who she saw staring at she almost screamed. She ran to him , she didn't even care about her suitcase. Diana laughed at Anne.

Gilbert had a huge smile on his face. Anne ran to Gilbert and gave him the biggest hug ever.

"I can't believe it. You're actually here" Anne said while her and Gilbert were hugging. He chuckled and nodded his head. They let go and of course kissed for a couple seconds .

"Wait when did you get here?" Anne asked with confusion. Diana came over to the couple .

"Don't mean to bother you but Freds here . Ill see you at dinner Anne" Diana smiled and hugged Anne goodbye . She couldn't keep Anne away from Gilbert , that would just be cruel.

"Well I got here around an hour ago . I went to green gables and asked where you were. Marilla said you were going to be at the train station so I headed over here" Gilbert said while grabbing Anne's suitcase. They started walking towards green gables. Anne had the idea to walk on the trail that they used to walk on to get to school.

"So are you Moody's best man?" Anne asked Gilbert. He nodded his head and spoke " along side Charlie. You and Diana must be bridesmaid right?" Gilbert asked . Anne nodded her head with a smile. She still couldn't believe that Gilbert was here and she was talking to him.

"It's still kind of weird don't you think? Ruby and mood getting married. We're growing up so fast" anne sighed and grabbed Gilbert's hand that wasn't carrying the suitcase. She squeezed it and smiled.

"Oh how I've missed Avonlea" Anne smiled while admiring the trees and flowers. She had forgotten what it even looked like. Even though its only been four months to anne it felt like it had been a year .

A couple days had past , Anne and Diana were helping ruby out with her dress. Gilbert and Charlie were helping moody out with his vows and his tux.

"Oh ruby! You look beautiful. Mood is one lucky guy" Anne smiled . Ruby hugged her as they waited for her parents to come get her. Anne turned around and saw Gilbert and Charlie at the door. Diana furrowed her eyebrows and turned to anne.
