•Matthew?•

Anne put her hand over her mouth . Was she just hearing things again? Or was this really real?

"You know you're suppose to get down on your one knee" Anne laughed with Gilbert.

"So is that a yes?" Gilbert asked. Anne nodded her head and hugged him. Of course after they hugged they kissed . Gilbert was so scared of this moment.

"I love you Carrots" Gilbert said smiling very childish. Anne laughed as he grabbed her hands and kissed them.

"I love you too Blythe" Gilbert faked being offended as Anne laughed a lot . This was the way Anne wanted to be proposed to. Sunset and somewhere special to her and her beau .

"Now you know. I really want a cat. So we're getting a cat" Gilbert said very seriously . Anne furrowed her eyebrows.

"Really Gilbert" Gilbert nodded his head while grabbing Anne's hand as they walked back to green gables. "Yes , I've been wanting a cat but Bash says he's afraid of them" They laughed at Bash and his fear of cats

Anne and Gilbert made it all the way to Green Gables. Anne looked at the big house and sighed.

"You ready to tell them?" Anne asked turning her head towards Gilbert. He shook his head and Anne grabbed his hand and pulled him to the door.

She opened it and announced she was home.

"Marilla? Matthew?" Anne looked around everywhere . She looked at Gilbert with a concerned expression.

"Anne?" Jerry asked. He was sleeping on the couch in the living room. Anne ran over to him and furrowed her eyebrows.

"Jerry , where's Matthew and Marilla?" Anne sounded very scared . She had never came home to an empty house before.

"They went to Charlottetown. Just as they arrived back to green gables Matthew started coughing a lot. Je pense il a un heart thing." Jerry sounded very upset. Anne looked at him with a shocked / sad expression. She couldn't process what she heard. She knew Matthew had problems with his heart and all but what if something very bad happened . She turned to Gilbert.

"Gilbert. Stay the night? In the morning we can fetch the train to Charlottetown and head to the doctors?" Anne sounded very concerned . Trying her hardest not to cry. He nodded his head as they went to get blankets for Jerry and Gilbert.

"Jerry you can sleep in the guest room tonight. In the morning you'll do some farm work. Without Matthew here there'll be a lot to do. I promise he'll be okay. I think" she whispered the last two words .

Anne was tossing and turning in her bed. She couldn't get to sleep. Gilbert was laying on some blankets beside Anne's bed on the floor.

"Gilbert. What if he-" Gilbert interrupted Anne before she finished the sentence.

"He'll make it anne" Gilbert smiled . Anne nodded her head . She looked at Gilbert with love , she still couldn't believe the day she had. Graduating then getting proposed to then Matthew. Anne couldn't help but cry. She was so worried about Matthew.

"Hey hey" Gilbert got up from his bed and sat down beside Anne. She moved closer to Gilbert and put her head on his chest. He laid his head on top of hers and let her cry. He had never seen Anne cry this much , it made him so upset. To see Anne cry and he couldn't do anything about it. Matthew and Marilla were all the way in Charlottetown and they were in green gables.

It was morning in Avonlea. Birds chirping and the wind blowing the trees leaves . Anne woke up slowly and realized she had fallen asleep crying. Gilbert had moved her on her back and she must've been so asleep he couldn't move. Because her head was still on his chest.
