• The Gala •

Moody was furious, Gilbert had liked Anne since the day he had met her. Now this snake- Josie Pye is going to ruin it for him and Anne of course. Charlie and Moody has just learned from Diana that Anne had liked Gilbert for almost a year but didn't tell anyone.

"Moody what is it, I'm trying to read here" Josie rolled her eyes and stuck out her tongue.

"Oh that was mature" Moody looked at Josie. Josie stood up and mouthed his words and stomped away.

"Gilbert Bud! How's life ? I'm sorry about the break-" Gilbert paused Billy. Gilbert looked him dead in the eye.

"Look I'm not your bud and thank you but we're not broken up" Anne looked at Gilbert in surprise. For once billy Andrews was being somewhat nice to her and Gilbert but Gilbert shut him down . Billy shrugged his shoulders and lightly laughed , pushing his shoulder against Gilbert's .Gilbert shot up a glare.

After school

School had just ended. Anne shot up and ran to the coat rack so she wouldn't have to face Josie , Ruby and Billy. She grabbed her coat and looked up to see Gilbert smiling at her. "You forgot you're books carrots" Anne grabbed her books from him and dragged him out. " thank you" Anne smiled at Gilbert as they opened the door of the schoolhouse.

That night

Anne had just finished her dinner. She got up out of her seat and washed her dishes . She glared up to see a Gilbert Blythe staring at her.

"Yes Gilbert?" Anne had forgotten all about tonight. Gilbert smirked at her and waited until she realized.

"Oh my goodness ! I can't believe I've forgotten! I'm ever so excited!!" Anne grabbed Gilbert's hand and Gilbert led the way.

He led them to a bridge . Water and lily pads underneath. The moon was hidden by some clouds but you could still it's light. Gilbert looked at Anne and finally said

"Anne , I'm so glad that we're courting. I know you didn't like me at first because of the whole carrots thing but I've liked you since we've met. You're hair is so beautiful and your freckles! Where do I even begin with them. You're temper is my favourite part about you . Hold on before you get angry with me , it's my favourite part of you because you don't always use it in a rude way, sometimes you use it to help people. Anyway would you do me a favour?" Anne nodded with excitement.

"Would you like to go to the gala with me?" Anne squealed . She jumped into Gilbert's arms and hugged him.

"I'm guessing that's a yes?"

"Oh of course! I'm sorry I got distracted by all the romantical words you said! I cant believe it! I'm going to a gala with the Gilbert Blythe! It feels like all my dreams have come true we'll all except one . That is finding out more information about my parents!" Anne kept rambling on about all her dreams but all Gilbert could think about it how someone would ever want to harm her. She's so beautiful, no beautiful doesn't even describe her. She gorgeous .

A few days later ( 2 days before the gala)

Anne and Gilbert were walking to school , they heard a noise from behind them.

It was Diana .

She had been running for a long time . You could see it on her face.

"Oh Anne, Gilbert . I'm so glad your fine. Come in follow me" Diana grabbed their hands and pulled them deep into the woods. When they got to the place Diana had pulled them to she opened the door pushed them in and slammed the door behind her.
