"Anne I already told you, For one it's like almost midnight and for two my parents have already made their decision. I know it sucks but we can't change it" Diana was upset , all she wanted was to go to college . All of her friends are going but she has to go to finishing school.

"Yes it will Diana. Now tomorrow we will go to your house and simply tell them three reasons why you should go. I've already made up three reasons and more just in case. Once we're finished your parents have to agree!" Anne smiled at Diana. They said their goodbyes and parted ways to go to bed.

"Remember Diana. Breathe in , breathe out . Everything will be okay!" Anne put her hands on Diana on shoulders and motioned breathing in and out. Diana nodded her head and opened the door to her house.

"Mother , father . Anne and I have something to say." Diana's mother and father jumped as they did not know people were in the room with them.

"Yes?"

"These are the reasons Diana should be allowed to go to queens!" Mrs Barry scoffed as she already knew her answer.

"One , everyone else is going! All of dianas friends and I are going. It would give Diana a new chance to meet knew people and do new things! Maybe get a job , meet a man , get great grades and so much more!" mr Barry didn't seem very into what the girls were saying seeing as though he was reading the newspaper rather than paying attention.

"Secondly, We're heading into a century. We need to start to change the way we think. Boys shouldn't just be going to school . Girls should too. Diana can learn things she would never learn in finishing school and she could bring a book on finishing school and read it every night. I could help her with the things she'll have to do" Anne was very excited , she loved giving speeches.

"A last of all . She'll be happier. Diana told once we met that she won't be able to go to college because she has to go to finishing school. She's never ever loved the idea." Mrs Barry started to shake her head no.

"I'm sorry girls but we've already made our choice. No need to do all of this" Anne didn't stop there. Time for her back up plan.

"Mrs Barry , isn't your daughters happinesses more than a school? Diana has proven over and over that she doesn't need to go to finishing school. Once we met I was all over the place and she would calm me down. You've raised a good daughter and she's followed every single rule possible that you've given her . Doesn't that mean she deserves to live her life the way she wants?" Mrs Barry and mr Barry were in shock. Never had they heard such a thing.

"She's 17. Shes old enough to make her own choices. Yes maybe when she was younger she thought the idea of finishing school was cool and amazing but she's grown out of the idea. She met great friends and she's learned that life isn't always about rules and that if you want to have fun sometimes you gotta bend them. What I'm trying to say is that Diana should be a bale to go to college , Queens to be exact . I'll take good care of her and maybe she'll meet a wealthy man there. Who knows . Just please change your answer!"

"I'll think about it" Mrs Barry said while standing up and walking out of the living room. Mr Barry was still reading the news paper , chuckling to whatever he found funny.

Anne and Diana squealed in excitement and jumped into a hug. Diana could be going to queens after all!

"So how was half of your day?" Gilbert asked Anne. They were having a picnic in a flower field. Anne picked the spot seeing as though Gilbert picked the last time.

"Stressful. Diana and I had to figure out a way to change her parents minds about college. Her mother said she'll think about it" Anne said while lying down looking up and the sky .

"That's great Anne!" Gilbert smiled. He loves the way Anne doesn't give up on anything , especially when it comes to people she loves.

"Yeah , so what about yesterday? What was the big news?" Gilbert looked at Anne with confusion. There was no big news he just really had to ask Bash about the spelling bee.

"Oh um they tricked me . No big news . But I did tell Bash about your theory and he agrees" Gilbert sighed. He still didn't completely understand why miss Stacy would give those words out though.

"See I was right! But why engagement? It's not like we're engaged!" Anne thought to herself what miss Stacy was trying to say.

"Yeah . I mean there's only three months until schools over and then off to college we go!" Gilbert smiled at the thought of getting married to anne.

"Really 2 months and 3 days but okay" Anne laughed and sat up. "I'm scared" Anne didn't want to leave Avonlea and go to college. Leave Matthew and Marilla.

"Sacred for what?"

"Leaving! Leaving for college. I'm scared of leaving miss Stacy behind and Matthew , Marilla , all the farm animals , Jerry , green gables and Rachel! I don't want to leave!" Gilbert hugged Anne and made sure she was alright .

"Everything will be okay. Don't worry . You aren't leaving them. Well I mean you are but that's not the point. You're going to school and you'll be back for Christmas and Easter and other holidays." Anne nodded her head and the two sat there , Anne's head on Gilbert's arm both staring at the sky . They were trying to find cloud animals.

"Gilbert do you ever think about life after college? Like when we're a lot older?" Anne turned to face Gilbert . They were both still laying on their backs on the blanket , heads turned to meet each other's.

"All the time" Gilbert chuckled and looked Anne up and down. He thought how lucky he was to have found Anne.

"What do you imagine?" Anne was curious what Gilbert would think of doing after college.

"Well . For one I'd be a doctor , maybe be engaged or married . A few years later have a kid . Start a family you know the basics" Gilbert smiled in embarrassment.

Anne beamed of happiness . Never had she thought Gilbert would be Malik plans like that , of course she knew about the doctor but it the rest.

"Geez it's sounds like you've got your whole life planned out. All I know is I want to be a teacher" Anne nodded her head in satisfaction thinking of becoming a teacher. Gilbert smiled at Anne .

"No kids , or married?" Anne shrugged her shoulders and looked back up at the sky.

"Well if I'm married you are too." Gilbert said quickly because right as he said it he realized what he had said. Anne's head slowly turned to meet Gilbert's with a half happy half confused look.

"What do you mean , if you're married I'm married?" Anne asked. Does this mean Gilbert wants Anne to be his wife?

"Well I guess I've always pictured you as my wife and the mother of my childen. I know it's silly but once I met you I know you were the one" Gilbert blushed in embarrassment not knowing what Anne would say next.

"It's not silly , I think it's romantic!" Anne kisses Gilbert cheek and smiled.

"All though it took me a while to figure it out I knew you are the one too." The two laughed and talked for hours until the sun started to set. Gilbert walked Anne back to green gables . He thought to himself how his life has changed. Before Anne arrived to Avonlea Gilbert found it boring and had nothing to do. Then once Anne arrived she kept Avonlea from being boring see as though she would take risks and would always want to learn new things.

Gilbert waved goodbye and started to walk to the fence. He felt a tugged on his shoulder then pulled into the barn.
