Anne woke up from her nap . As she moved her leg she whimpered forgetting that she hurt it walking on the ridge pole .

She saw Marilla opening the door and smiled. "Well that was not a very pleasant birthday" Anne laughed while trying to get up.

"Please anne do stay in your bed." Marilla rolled her eyes and sat down beside her. "I have some news"

Anne wondered what on earth Marilla was talking about. Could it be that Mr Phillips is coming back to teaching ? That would be dreadful.

"Gilbert's old friend is coming to Avonlea for a while. He wanted to make sure you're fine with her hanging around with you and your friends" Anne nodded her head slowly.

"Why did he want to make sure?" Marilla didn't want to say the next words.  " Well he's not completely worried as I am. He doesn't know her like you and I do" Anne tilted her head in confusion.

"I know her?" Marilla nodded her head. "For years" Anne crossed her arms . "Marilla tell me! As you know I'm very inpatient!" Marilla sighed.

"Her name is Alice Walter" Anne rosed her eyebrows. "ALICE?!"

Gilbert came over to green gables on his horse. He knocked on the door to see a Matthew Cuthbert open it. "Hello there Matthew!" Matthew nodded his head and welcomed Gilbert in

As they waited for Anne and Marilla to finish talking Gilbert heard Anne scream "ALICE?" .

"So she knows her huh?" Gilbert chuckled not knowing what Alice has done to anne.

"Knows her?" Gilbert nodded his head . Matthew huffed and leaned back on their couch.

"Has known her for years." Gilbert smiled thinking that they'll be great friends.

" how long? It's good to know that they know each other. I now know why Alice was a little weird was I mentioned the name Anne . She's probably excited to see her again!" Matthew just sat that nodding his head.

"As I said years. How did you meet ?"

"I was in Charlottetown getting Anne her present when I bumped into her. She's very nice and she came from the orphanage like Anne . I suppose she's the one Anne would say that she was her only friend there" Matthew rolled his eyes knowing that Anne's only friend was a girl in a reflection named Katie.

"Seems nice" Matthew crosses his arms just thinking of the terrible things Alice has done to anne"

Marilla helped Anne walk down the stairs to meet with Gilbert and Matthew. "Good morning Matthew , Gilbert!" Anne smiled trying to forget about Alice.

"Morning Anne" Gilbert smiled back and helped Anne sit down on the couch. "So has Marilla told you about Alice staying with us?" Anne nodded her head trying to forget all the memories.

"Well she's arriving soon!" Anne tried to stand up and Marilla jumped out of her seat to help.

"Thank you Marilla but I am perfectly capable to get up by myself. If you don't mind I'll be in the kitchen" Everyone nodded and continued to talk .

Anne sat down on one of the seats in the kitchen closing her eyes.

Flashbacks start
Violence ( Not a lot though )
"Anne Shirley you are the ugliest red headed freckled witch to ever live , no one will ever want you!" Alice laughed along with all the other girls. Anne tried to move backwards but fell.

"Oh you're so clumsy!" Alice pushed Anne closer to the wall. Everyone started to hit her and kick her until she blacked out.

"Well no wonder no one wants you! You're too skinny and you probably couldn't bake if it was on your parents life's!" Anne started to cry . "Cry little baby!" All the girls started to chant 'cry baby' over and over again.

Flashback ends

Gilbert walked into the kitchen hearing some sobs. "Anne? Are you alright?"

Anne looked up to see a concerned Gilbert. "Oh I'm alright gil , my leg just hurts." Anne fakesmiled .

"I would suggest not to use your leg a lot , it's probably because you're walking around a lot" Anne smiled and got up . "Well I have to get around some how!"

Anne hopped all the way into the living room seeing Matthew and Marilla arguing .

"Is everything alright?" Marilla noticed that Gilbert was behind Anne . "Could you excuse us for a moment Gilbert?"

"Of course" Gilbert walked outside to talk to Jerry and help him on the farm.

"Anne , Matthew and I don't think that you should be talking to Alice." Marilla said.

"Then Matthew said Gilbert and Alice shouldn't be friends." Anne looked confused.

"Of course they should. I'll just not be around when she is." Matthew huffed and got up from his seat.

"Anne , she hurt you for years! How could you forgive her?" Matthew said almost crying.

"It's fine . I'm going to go see Diana . Can Jerry or Gilbert take me ?" The two siblings nodded their heads sadly and Anne hopped out of green gables.

"Jerry! Can you take me to see Diana?" Jerry smirked and looked at Gilbert.

"Yeah sure! Gilbert wanna come?" Gilbert chuckled and agreed .

~ two days later

Anne has been sitting in her bed for days . Gilbert and Alice have been hanging out a lot lately and Anne didn't want to see her. She also didn't want to tell Gilbert about her past and what happened between Alice and her.

Anne heard her door open and found Diana and Cole standing in the doorframe.

"Anne , I'm so sorry" Cole said with his hands clenched. "What ever do you mean Cole?"

"It's Alice, her and Gilbert have been hanging out a lot , I just thought you should know." Diana turned to look at Anne and nodded her head while sitting on her bed.

"I already know that! That's why I haven't been out in a while. Alice is here for a couple more days and I don't want all the memories to come flooding all back" Cole let out a sigh .

"I'm going to kill Gilbert! After what happened between you and Alice he still continues to hangout with her?" Anne laughed to herself . Cole was very protective at times.

"He doesn't know yet. They're friends and I don't want to be that person who breaks up friendships!" Diana places her hand over Anne's.

"Anne , she hurt you for years , I think Gilbert would understand if he had to break it up!" Anne was happy to have her two bosom friends here.

"Okay I'll talk to Gilbert tomorrow"
