•School•

It had been a week since Anne and Gilbert left Avonlea. Anne missed everyone deeply and wished that she could go back soon. She had just woken up from a long sleep . Gilbert was already up and making some tea for the two of them. Once Anne saw him in her room she looked very confused.

"Gil-" Anne started to fall but Gilbert interrupted her already knowing what she was about to ask. "I have a key and I thought you'd be up , but you weren't so I decided to make some tea for the both of us" he said with a cheeky smile. Anne chuckled and shook her head and a smile. Tired , she sat on one of the chairs at the small circular table . Gilbert handed Anne a cup of the tea and grabbed the newspaper to see what was going on.

"Thanks. I should be off in a couple minutes. School starts in 30 minutes or so" Anne started to drink her tea and took a bite out of the piece of toast Gilbert had placed on the table before she had gotten up. He nodded his head with a smile . "Wait , What school do you teach at again?" Gilbert asked staring at the newspaper .

"I forget the name but it's an all girls school , why?" Anne answered wondering why Gilbert sounded so odd.

"Well I suppose your school is hosting a parents night. The parents get to meet the principal and the teachers" Gilbert said with a excited tone. Anne got up and sat beside Gilbert trying to read where he was. "That sounds like fun. What else does it say?" Anne asked him.

"Teachers can bring any suitors" Gilbert looked at Anne with a smile. She nodded her head hoping that he didn't have to work that day. He continued on reading the newspaper , Anne got up and started to get ready for the day. She only had about ten minutes to get ready or else she would be very late .

"Okay I have to go now , I love you and I'll see you soon" Anne shouted before she opened the door. Gilbert smiled "I love you too" he replied right after she shut the door . He knew that he had to get ready for the day soon too .

Brooklyn was very excited about the weekend , her parents get to meet Ms. Shirley Cuthbert. Her absolute favourite teacher . Looking around waiting for her friend she saw Maddie picking on one of the litter students. She knew that she had to help her. She quickly walked over to Maddie and the little girl .

"Maddie , what are you doing?" Brooklyn asked seeing the little girl crying. Brooklyn crossed her arms with a rude expression across her face. Maddie rolled her eyes and pushed the little girl away from them. "What do you want Brooklyn" she said with a scoff.

"Why were you picking on that little girl?" She asked seeing her run away from them. Maddie turned around to see where Brooklyn was staring. "I don't know , I felt like it" Maddie shrugged her shoulders with a smirk.

"You felt like picking on a little girl?" Brooklyn Asked again . Maddie nodded her head wanting to leave this conversation. "Yes Brooklyn, I did . Now if you don't mind I'm going to go into school" Maddie rolled her eyes before pushing her shoulder past Brooklyn as she walked towards the school. Leaving Brooklyn standing in the middle of the field .

"Brooklyn? Come in! Schools about to start" Anne shouted out seeing her just standing there. As Brooklyn walked towards the school she had an annoyed face. Anne furrowed her eyebrows as she shut the door after they had both walked in.

"Okay class , meet the teachers night it coming up soon. So I'd like you to write an essay about three things you like at this school. When you're finished hand it to me and I'll read it and hand it back. After that please put it on top of your desk for your parents to read tomorrow" Anne smiled at the students and started to hand out the papers. As she walked around she didn't notice Brooklyn staring down Maddie with a rude stare . Of course Maddie didn't notice.

"Brooklyn is everything alright?" Anne Asked . Brooklyn nodded her head and grabbed the sheet of paper that Anne handed to her slowly.

Class was over , all the girls had ran outside very excited to be able to run around. As Anne was marking the papers , checking for spelling mistakes and errors. Brooklyn walked into the classroom very quietly.

"Miss Shirley-Cuthbert?" Brooklyn said. Anne turned her head and jumped. She hadn't thought that anyone was there . She smiled at Brooklyn after almost falling out of her chair.

"Yes?" Anne asked waiting for Brooklyn to answer her. "I have to tell you something. It's about a student that goes here" Brooklyn answered with a small frown. She pulled a chair closer in front of Anne's desk and sat down. She took a deep breath and began to speak.

"I was wondering if you could speak to Maddie. She's been pretty rudely to the students here , not just in the classroom. Out on the yard , like today . She was picking on a little girl" Anne furrowed her eyebrows , she could see the annoyance on Brooklyn's face.

"I'll see what I can do. Now you go hurry outside , you'll miss your playtime" Anne smiled while Brooklyn nodded her head and waved goodbye .

The school day was finally over , Anne had made it to her room not expecting Gilbert to be in there . As she opened the door she almost screamed .

"Gilbert! I didn't think your job was done until 5:00" anne said while catching her breath. Gilbert shook his head while laughing at the poor girl. She then walked over to the bed where Gilbert was laying down and laid down beside him. She placed her head on his chest and sighed.

"Oh yeah , we still have to go to the meet the teachers night , tonight" Anne said while yawning. Gilbert nodded his head .

"I'll have to speak to Maddies parents about her , did you know she's been literally picking on everyone in the school. Not just me and some girls in my class , Brooklyn told me that she was picking on a little girl from the next school over" Anne was so annoyed with Maddie , she thought that once she made it to the school , everyone would respect her and love her. Instead only a few really respected her and the rest hated her.

Gilbert and Anne laid on Anne's bed for a while. Soon after Anne fell asleep following Gilbert . The clock rung every hour so they could get up and get ready for meet the teachers night.
