As Anne caught up to Gilbert she saw he was saying something. She couldn't understand what he was saying since the wind was very strong. Anne tapped his shoulder. Gilbert jumped a little . He turned around. "Hey I was wondering where are we really going? I know you can't pick apples in winter."

Gilbert didn't know how he was going to say it. So instead he told her to close her eyes and take his hand.

As they walked Gilbert was holding onto Anne's hand. There was an ice patch , Gilbert didn't realize that the ice was black ice until he had stepped onto it. Anne let out a little scream.

"Gilbert Blythe! Why are we on ic-" Anne fell onto the ice. She opened her eyes to see Gilbert sitting beside her. There was a big tree and a huge hill in-front of them. Anne looked at Gilbert. He had a sled in his hand. Before they got there he had hidden the sled behind the tree. It was a little snowy since it had been snowing all night. Anne was laughing from her fall. Gilbert laughed too.
"I thought we could go sledding?"
(I don't know if sledding was a thing back then or not so I guess just go with it lol)
Anne looked at the hill. It looked very icy. Anne loved to be adventurous so she nodded. She hopped onto the sled and looked behind her. She gestured her hand for Gilbert to come on behind her. "Anne , I really don't have to."

Anne laughed. Deep down she wanted him to sit behind her and hold onto the strings, make sure they didn't crash into anything and at the end just stare at each other. Anne thought that that thought was dumb , her and Gilbert were just friends. She made herself think it was because she was too scared to go down such a gigantic hill. "It's to big . I need someone to go down with me, make sure I don't you know ... die."

Gilbert loved how funny Anne was sometimes . He wanted her to say that she needed him and wanted him to ride with her.

Gilbert chuckled and hopped on behind her. Gripping onto the strings and guiding the sled. When they made it down to the bottom of the hill Gilbert glanced at Anne, she had some snow in her hair which made her red hair even more beautiful than it already was. She had the most beautiful smile on her face . Her dress was all wet from crashing at the end.

Anne noticed that Gilbert was staring at her. "You know staring isn't polite its actually quite rude." Gilbert jumped up and grabbed the sled. He felt so embarrassed. Anne caught him staring!

" I um actually wanted to tell you something. If it's to soon I understand." Anne leaned in to listen. They were a few feet away. "I um how do I say this..... think you are um" Anne had never see him so nervous especially around her. She looked up at him. His curls were in front of his face and he looked kind of nervous. "Gilbert . If you're saying you want to end this friendship I completely understand. I mean I've never been nice to you until a few days ago. At least I think anyways you've always been so nice to me , why?"

Gilbert had no words.  He had no words. Words words what are some words??!

"Anne I think you are so beautiful. Since the first day I met you I knew you were going to be hard to become friends with and now since we are why would I not want to be your friend? Honestly we didn't come out here to go sledding or pick apples, we came out here so I could confess. I really like you Anne. I've never told anyone but Bash. I think Diana know because shes the one who posted ." Anne was so confused. She stood there, looking into his hazel eyes. She had nothing to say. She leaned in and gave him a quick peck on the cheek.
