Gilbert jumped a little wondering who had just pulled him in the barn. When he opened his eyes he saw Jerry trying his best not to laugh at the fact that Gilbert looked a little spooked.

"Jerry? What the-" Gilbert got interrupted by Jerry. Even though Jerry doesn't go to school he knows what goes on over there. He knows about the bet that everyone has made .

"I just wanted to say that you have my blessing" Jerry smiled , acting like Anne's older brother. Gilbert stood up confused but nodded his head with a smile.

"Okay , but for what?" Gilbert scratched his neck confused. What was Jerry saying? That he could propose to Anne?

"That you and Anne can get married! You two are so good together and I know you want to ." Gilbert looked at Jerry then asked himself a question. How does he know I want to??

"It's so obvious! From the first day you met her all she could talk about was how mad she was at you and how she was never going back to school because of you. Then once you left she was heartbroken. She might've not known but I knew that she liked you. When you guys were writing to eachother it was like she had never been more happy" Jerry rambled on while doing some farm work.

"Plus . When you would come over to try and apologize for pulling her hair and calling her Carrots , even then I could tell you liked her. I don't know how you could've when she literally smacked you with her slate but whatever. You've liked her for a long time huh?" Jerry stopped pushing all the hay back and dropped his rake. He walked over to Gilbert , put his hand on Gilbert's shoulder and nodded his head.

"So if you really want to . I say you should ask Mr Cuthbert for his blessing " Jerry smiled and waved goodbye , going back to the fame work.

Gilbert walked away with a smirk on his face , humming and thinking about proposing to Anne. When would he do it? He can't do it when they're still in school. When though?

"Good morning Anne , how was your sleep?" Marilla Asked while putting the plates out for breakfast. Anne smiled and sat down on her seat.

"Great! These eggs are great by the way. Oh and Matthew why were you and Gilbert talking last night? I heard you two before I fell asleep" Anne looked up at Matthew with a questionable face.

Matthew coughed and shrugged his shoulders. He continued on eating which made Anne a little frustrated .

"Matthew please do tell me! You two never talk unless he's over to pick me up or dropping me off" Anne was determined to get this out of Matthews mouth.

"Nothing , no need to worry . Just wanted to ask some questions about his farm , that's all. Wanted to know if Jerry and I could help him out because Mary and bash are busy with Delphine" Matthew was surprised how he made that up so quickly. Plus that was the longest he's ever spoken without someone interrupting.

"Oh okay" anne nodded her head slowly sounding disappointed. She finished up her eggs , said her goodbyes to Matthew and Marilla an headed off to school.

Diana wasn't coming to school today since her parents had to talk to her about queens. Anne was walking alone until she heard footsteps behind her.

"Hello Gilbert!" Anne smiled and hugged Gilbert . Gilbert greeted Anne , Gilbert couldn't tell anne what him and Matthew had talked about. Matthew said not to unless Anne finds out somehow.

"I was wondering , if we could hangout after school ? I don't think we'll have any homework so?" Anne asked. She really wanted to know what Gilbert and Matthew were talking about , she knew it wasn't about Gilbert's farm.
