"I'm so excited for tomorrow! We leave tonight right?" Anne asked while putting her hat on top of her head. Gilbert nodded his head while flipping through the newspaper . Anne chuckled at how grown up Gilbert looked while reading the newspaper.

"Okay well I'll see you tonight! Have fun at work" Anne walked over to Gilbert and have him and kiss on the cheek . He turned so instead of her kissing his cheek she kissed his lips. When she pulled away she dramatically exclaimed. Gilbert laughed and said goodbye as Anne opened the door .

"Love you!" "Love you too Carrots" Anne rolled her eyes with a little smile as she shut the door . She made sure her hat was fully on her head before she left the building to go to the school.

"Miss Shirley-Cuthbert, May I speak with you for a moment?" The principal asked as Anne had just gotten into the school. She nodded her head and followed her into her office.

She showed her a seat to sit in and sat behind her desk. "So , tomorrow you are leaving for a couple days right?" Anne nodded her head confused why she was here.

"Well , I need someone to fill in for you. Is there anyone you know?" She asked. As if Anne would know anyone in New York . The only other teacher she knew was Miss Stacy but she was all the way in PEI.

"No , but I suppose you could teach them? They don't really know you , it would be a great way to get to know them" Anne smiled at her boss . The principal just sat there with furrowed eyebrows trying to understand what Anne was suggesting .

"You're saying I'm teaching your class?" She asked to make sure she heard it right. Anne sat there with her head nodded . Then all of the sudden she had a great idea.

"Today we'll go on a picnic! That way you'll be able to get to know them , it'll be easier to teach if you know them" Anne smiled and got up out of her chair. She couldn't believe she didn't get yelled at for suggesting the principal could teach her class. Maybe she agreed that she needs to get to know them.

"Miss Shirley-Cuthbert, I don't believe I've told you my name now have I?" The principal stood up and made her way to anne. Anne shook her head with a friendly smile . "It's Elizabeth Kayne" Miss Kayne said with putting her hand out for Anne to shake.

Miss Kayne seemed to be a lovely person , maybe you just need to get to know her before that way she'll open up to you more and more.

"Okay students. I stayed up all night reading your first few chapters and must I say bravo! They were all very unique and very well described. I understood what was going on in all of them. I've graded them so I'll be handing them out" Anne grabbed the stack of papers from her desk that she had placed there before all the girls had arrived. She started to walk to the desks and placing their chapters on their desks.

"Now to congratulate you , we'll be going on a picnic!" Anne said excitedly. She could here some scoffs and groans . But she really didn't care , the girls had to get to know Miss Kayne if she's going to be teaching them.

"Oh how exciting!" Brooklyn exclaimed. Maddie looked at Brooklyn up and down , how could she want to go on a dumb picnic?

"Yes it will be. When I was in school I used to go on many picnics with my friends and other people. Now , we'll be going on it with Miss Kayne" Anne said as she made her way back to her desk . When she turned to face the girls she could see confused faces around the classroom . One girl rose her hand .

"Um who's that?" Tina asked with the whole class agreeing with her question. Anne thought they were joking around until she saw Brooklyn confused .
