•Dresses•

Couple days had past. Anne had already written a letter to Gilbert. She had planned on going to Charlottetown today to send it. Once she told Diana what she was up to Diana had decided to come along.

"Oh Diana , I just can't wait for Christmas! It seems like such a long wait" Anne said with a sigh. Diana felt very bad for Anne , she didn't know what it felt like at all. She thought if she came along with Anne she could try and cheer her up a little.

"Do you want to go dress shopping?" Diana said . Right when Anne heard dress her eyes widened with joy . "Diana! We could go wedding dress shopping!" Anne almost bursted of happiness saying those words. Diana knew that she might not be able to pick out a dress , but she didn't care. It was her wedding , so what if Fred's mother wants things to be perfect. It's Diana Barry's wedding . Not everything will be super perfect. Of course she wants it to be.

"That's sounds like an amazing idea" Diana said with a laugh. The two girls looked out the window in the carriage. Anne admired all the lovely greenery . She had always ridden the train to Charlottetown, never drove there in a carriage before.

The carriage stopped , Anne looked out the window to see where they were. They were at the post office. Anne looked over at Diana and she was already outside waiting for her. Anne got out and took a deep breath of fresh air.

"Okay so first can we mail the letter?i need to know if Gilbert got there safely" Anne said with a smile. Diana nodded her head knowing anne desperately wanted to mail it . As the two girls made it into the post office Anne gripped the letter. She didn't want it to fly away in the wind , that had happened to her many times before.

"I just don't know about this one Anne!" Diana was changing into a bunch of dresses . She was in a different room changing and anne was sitting outside the room waiting .

"Oh please Diana! You look great in anything. It'll look lovely on you" Anne laughed . Diana walked out with her wedding dress. It was white , with little rhinestones across the neck line. The lace started at the hips down and it came with diamond earrings. Diana picked up the end of the dress and turned around for Anne to see her in it. When Anne looked up her mouth dropped. Diana was beautiful in it!

"Diana! You so lovely! It must cost a fortune though" anne said as the manager walked pass the two girls . She stopped and smiled at them answering their questions.

"Well , it does cost a lot . But you look beautiful in it . We can give you a deal if you take the earrings" the lady said . Diana looked at Anne and shrugged her shoulders. She really liked this dress but didn't know if it was the right thing to do.

"I think you should" Anne whispered seeing that Diana was debating if she was or not. With that little push Diana decided to accept the offer. She paid and gave it to the driver to put in the back . She still couldn't believe she was getting married.

"So this is what being an adult feels like? We're only 17 and it already feels like we're so grown up" Anne said with a sigh as she sat down across from Diana. All Diana did what nod her head , she didn't really think of it that way. They had always wanted to be adults and make their own decisions but now that they're almost there , she didn't want to be an adult anymore.

"I can tell you'll do great at queens Anne" Diana said , she placed her hand on top of Anne's. She could tell that Anne was worried .

"You will too. I don't know what I'll do next. I want to become a teacher but I'm afraid I won't be able to" Anne laughed and put her hand in a fist over her mouth. She sighed while watching the trees and animals as they drove by them in the carriage.

It was one day until Anne left for college. She could feel the butterflies already . Marilla knocked on her door and opened it without Anne acknowledging her.

"Anne. Someone has a letter for you" Marilla held the letter behind her back. Waiting for Anne to adjust to the sunlight. Anne sat up in her bed and rubbed her eyes. Once she realized what Marilla was going on about she practically jumped out of her bed.

"Oh Marilla! It's been two weeks since I had mailed Gilbert the letter. How has It traveled that fast?" Anne questioned as she smiled looking at the letter.

"I suppose they sent the mail rather quick or something? I don't really understand either but aren't you glad?" Marilla asked seeing the happiness across Anne's face. Anne nodded her head quickly and tore the letter open.

Dear Anne ,
I've missed you so much. I was so excited to hear from you a week ago. I was rather confused why it sent so fast but I'm not complaining.

The first couple weeks here have been crazy. I have to wake up everyday super early. They call me the young doctor. Apparently I'm really good for my age which I think is a compliant. I love this school so much. I just wish I was still in Avonlea with you. I just know that Christmas will be a blast .

How has things in Avonlea been? I'm sure you'll get this when you're in queens. You'll do great as you always do. I do wish I went to queens with you and everyone else , U of T is just so much better for my education.

Anyways , is there any news? Any news that Rachel would tell me ? I'm sure there has to be . How's Marilla? The last time I saw her she seemed to be doing well.

I miss you with all my heart and can't wait to see you. I love you Carrots.

Anne stood up holding the letter and went over to her desk. She planned on writing the letter today and when she moved to Charlottetown she would mail it. She had so much to write , so many new exciting things . Diana getting engaged , Moody and Ruby engaged , Marilla getting better and Anne had decided what she was going to do after queens.  Anne started to write her letter ,

Gilbert opened his eyes , regretting opening them he quickly pulled the blankets over his head blocking the sunshine. His little dorm room was small . No roommates but other people lived in the building.

Gilbert hated the mornings . He looked at clock. Where he was had a lot of money so they could afford clocks and electricity . When he realized what time it was his eyes widened in fear. He was very late for the doctors training.

He quickly through the blankets off of him and grabbed his shirt . He buttoned it up and threw on his pants. He grabbed all the equipment he needed and opened the door . Making sure no one saw him being late he quietly shut the door

The day went by quickly. Anne and Diana walked around and went to their favourite places. Anne finished her letter to Gilbert . She couldn't wait until she can send it . She loved hearing from him .

She tucked into her bed sighing . This was the last night she'd sleep in this bed for a while . She knew that she'd come back during Christmas, she'd hoped that she would be able to. Of course she was terrified, but somehow excited. This was a whole new chapter into her life .
