"Anne!" Gilbert said with a little shock in his voice. He hoped she didn't hear their conversation.

"What are you guys talking about?" Anne Asked with a smile across her face. She heard something about a blessing but was pretty confused.

"Uh Nothing" Charlie said quickly before Gilbert came up with something dumb. Moody nodded his head and played along.

"You have to be talking about something" Anne wasn't going to stop and Gilbert knew that. So he just came up with an excuse.

"Okay fine. I was talking about how I carried you home since you fell asleep. Moody Asked where we went yesterday and I answered." Gilbert smiled making the excuse seem real. Anne nodded her head and joined the little circle.

"Oh um. Moody may I speak with you?" Anne Asked . Gilbert raised his eyebrows with a hint of jealousy. Anne giggled and put her hand on his left shoulder.

"I'm asking about ruby Gilbert." Anne reassured Gilbert with a small smile. Gilbert made a 'oh' expression and continued to speak with Charlie about the whole proposing thing. Moody followed Anne over to the girls side .

Anne crossed her arms and looked at Moody. She thought it was odd that Gilbert jumped when she arrived . It was pretty easy to get things out of Moody so she stole him to get answers.

"So if you wanted to know Ruby and I are courting. It's awesome-" Moody was almost finished his sentence when Anne interrupted him.

"I would love to know about your courting with Ruby but as of this moment i need answers . What were you Gilbert and Charlie talking about?" Anne knew that at one point Moody would spill it . She just didn't know how long it'll be.

"That Gilbert took you home" moody said with hesitation. Almost so quickly that he sounded scared. He just stood there with a smile hoping Anne fell for it.

"Moody is not dumb! I know that's not what you guys were talking about. Plus you're a terrible liar" Anne laughed while moody got offended by her words. He wasn't going to tell Gilberts secret , he wanted to be a good friend.

"Like I said before that was what we were talking about. Now can I go back to them?" Moody stood there waiting for Anne to give in and let him go. Instead she didn't. She shook her head .

"Moody! I will find out. I can tell when Gilbert's lying and he was over there. So can you tell me if it's something bad at least?" Anne started to get moody to spill but he stayed put.

"Trust me , it's nothing bad. It's the complete opposite" Moody said while starting to walk back to Gilbert and Charlie. Anne quickly followed and begged for more and more hints until they got closer that Gilbert could hear. Anne stopped and smiled to her beau. She felt embarrassed and walked over to Diana and ruby who were laughing at Moody be so scared to talk to anne.

"They wouldn't tell me! I know they are keeping something from me. It feels like everyone is. I just need to find it out. Will you help me my dearest Diana?" Anne and Diana were walking arm in arm . School was over and only 6 days until graduation. Anne thought of it to be thrilling and scare some. Diana knew exactly what Anne was talking about . She felt like a horrible bosom friend for keeping this secret from Anne for so long. It's been 3 months since everyone bet that they'd get engaged.

So far the one person  that is out is

Tillie

She still thought that they'd get engaged in a year. That way they could go to college for a year and see and do new things. Miss Stacy and the rest of the class was set on 6 and 5 months. To Diana that seemed too soon. Anne was only 17 . It was normal yes to get married at 17 nowadays but to her Anne was still the 13 she met 4 years ago and Diana was still the 13 year old that had made that promise to always be her bosom friend.
