BONNIE STARED AT Dumbledore, anger in her veins, but she felt awful. Yasmin was the rat, and it made Bonnie think that if Peter could not be it, someone else would. Dumbledore moved to his Pensieve, using his wand to sort through some memories.

"Even if you think I've always been about power and control, you must agree with me that I've cared deeply for you," Dumbledore started, "not necessarily for the war or the fact that you were a Horcrux. I've cared about you because you were too young to be given such a difficult task. I'm sorry, Bonnie. I had longed to make amends with you officially, but now, it all seems like a man's dying wish for you to fully forgive me."

"Professor, we should help Slughorn find a cure—"

"There is no time. Miss Treump may have been a spy for Tom, but I have my own spy in their ranks. Mrs. Malfoy has been in contact this morning. She has fallen pregnant, and she wanted me to find a way to help Lucius and herself from this war. She told me Tom's next plan of action was to overrule my school," Dumbledore said, pulling a memory from his head. He placed it in the Pensieve. "Can you guess when this plan was taking place?"

"Tonight," Bonnie breathed, fear creeping up in her mind. "With you dead, he would be able to take over. He hoped no one found you—"

"And once again, you have saved this world," Dumbledore said with a nod. "I have already sent word to Moody to get the remaining Order members to this castle. Professor Flitwick was here just before you and Minerva, and he is getting the students out of the castle. All of this is happening, and yet, I feel as though I'm failing."

"What can I do?" Bonnie said, feeling her nerves spike when she knew her friends would arrive.

"Disarm me," Dumbledore instructed. "Tom knows what wand I own. He'll send someone to get it."

"The Elder Wand," Bonnie said with a nod, "but sir, why should I have it? What about Moody?"

"I told you, Bonnie, I care far too deeply about you. I trust you with it," he said, showing her his wand. "Please. I have just killed the three Horcruxes. It's just the snake and him." Dumbledore tossed her a tooth from the Basilisk.

Bonnie hesitated as she caught it and placed it in her pocket. "What's going to happen? This is happening too quickly—"

"This is exactly what needs to happen. This is the end, don't you see? Take my wand... kill the snake, and then, it's just him."

Bonnie did not want this to be the end. It would be just like the Battle of Hogwarts in the future. People would die. She would have to witness it. Bonnie hated how flashes of everyone dying began. She could hardly breathe as she tightened her hands into fists. "This is too soon," Bonnie said with a gulp. "What if they die? What if we lose—"

"You've heard it from the founder's mouths, Bonnie. We won't lose as long as they have you. Disarm me, quickly," Dumbledore said, hearing shouts from the courtyard underneath.

Bonnie was still hesitant; she felt as if she was not ready.

The door slammed open.

Bonnie raised her wand to point at the intruder.

The intruder's eyes widened at the witch.

"How the hell are you fucking alive?" Severus Snape snarled, his hand tightening around his wand.

Bonnie smirked smugly. "Did you think you could actually kill me, Severus?"

Snape shot a spell, but Dumbledore deflected it. "Now, Bonnie. Do it now!"

Bonnie flinched at his tone, turning and shouting, "Expelliarmus!"

Dumbledore's wand flew in the air, and Bonnie jumped to catch it.
