SIRIUS'S EYES WIDENED at the words that left Marlene's lips. It was Bonnie's birthday? Christmas Eve and she didn't tell him or mention it to any of her friends? He watched as Marlene tackled Bonnie into the railing causing Bonnie to wince more than she should have. He narrowed his eyes at her neck, noticing faint finger marks. He almost broke his glass at the sight.

After Marlene let go of Bonnie, she hugged Sirius out of excitement. He grinned at her when she let go, raising his glass slightly in greeting. "Hello, Marlene."

"Hi! Your cig is burnt out, did you know?" she said cheerfully before turning her attention back to Bonnie. Sirius frowned at his cigarette he seemed to have forgotten about.

Bonnie's eyes became brighter as she realized something, completely interrupting Marlene who was about to no doubt give her a gift. Bonnie reached in her small purse and pulled out Sirius's cigarette container with his lighter stuck in it. He frowned while taking it until he opened it to see the lighter.

Awe lit up on his face as he saw the Marauders' names written on it along with intricate designs. "Bon, this is beautiful. Why?"

"Was bored and noticed you forgot it in your jacket, which you won't get back until school. Sorry," she said sheepishly, ignoring Marlene's squeals of excitement as she glanced between the pair.

Finally, after a few moments of Sirius checking out the designs, Marlene finally thrusted a box into Bonnie's hand that she had pulled from her own bag (no doubt the undetectable extension charm that all witch purses had). Sirius frowned as Bonnie opened the gift, telling Marlene she didn't have to because she never celebrated her birthday. She had given him something, the lighter, on her birthday, and he had nothing to give her.

After watching her open the new paints and brushes and them do their girly hug and squeals, he coughed to gain their attention. "Well, my ladies, why don't we ditch this joint and go somewhere a little more interesting?"

Marlene grinned wildly. "Why don't we see if Mary's home and available? You can invite one of your mates, Sirius?! I know Lily is out of the country right now, so she wouldn't be available, and Peter said he was visiting his grandparents in his last letter—"

"Oi! We can't just leave. I was joking!" Bonnie said, afraid of leaving because she wasn't fully prepared to deal with the consequences. But then she truly thought about the reason she had gone back in time. She needed to do things right, and that meant to not allow her family to control her decisions. She had to do what she could to survive, and she was done being their puppet. She had a weak moment the day she returned home, allowing Christopher to have his way because she felt like she was in one of her nightmares and she couldn't get out. He wouldn't touch her again, she made a promise to herself. "You know what? You're right, let's go. How do we get out of here?"

"We jump," Sirius said with a grin while raising and lowering his eyebrows teasingly. Marlene grinned even wider and nodded, already taking off her shoes. Bonnie followed suit as Sirius pocketed his lighter and began to climb over the railing. "Ooh, not drunk enough. Wish me luck, my sweets!"

Bonnie almost screamed when Sirius fell off the railing, running over to watch him fall. She rolled her eyes when he transformed into his dog form before quickly transforming back before anyone could notice. She looked to see if Marlene saw, but she was putting her heels in her bag.

"All right, who's first? Come on, Bonnie!" Sirius called from the bottom. Bonnie gulped as she climbed over the railing, glad she put shorts on underneath her dress no matter how short they were. When she jumped, she closed her eyes until she landed in a pair of strong arms. "I got you, sweetheart. Open your eyes."
