LILY LOCKED ARMS with Bonnie as they began their walk back to the castle. Bonnie enjoyed her morning with the girls. They had gotten food at the Three Broomsticks for lunch before going to all sorts of shops. Bonnie spent a good deal of money on a book on dark pieces of magic. She found an entire chapter on Horcruxes, and she hoped the man who sold her the book wouldn't think anything of her purchase. After hiding the book in her bag of sweets (mostly chocolate for Remus and a few sweets for the other Marauders), she gladly walked with her friends toward the castle. Marlene began singing, Alice and Mary joining in. Bonnie laughed, thinking Marlene had too many Butterbeers.

Bonnie noticed the Marauders were not in the common room when they made it back. Cursing them in her mind, she decided to just wait for them on the couch. She had put the book on Horcruxes in her bag, ready for the night that awaited her.

To say Bonnie was nervous was an understatement. She was so excited to finally find one and destroy it, but really, did she know what was going to happen? No, neither one of them did. This unnerved her.

It was after three when the four rowdy boys walked back into the room. Bonnie had been drawing in her notebook, not realizing she had drawn Lily's smiling face from earlier when she felt bodies fall around her.

"Damn, Bonnie. You're really good, you know?" Peter said, leaning over her shoulder to watch her draw. He had sat next to her while James and Sirius sat on one couch and Remus laid on another.

"Let me see," James said, pulling the book from her hands. "Lily is so beautiful," he sighed. "You forgot the small freckle above her eyebrow."

"I'm not even going to ask how you know that," Bonnie mumbled with a laugh, pulling the book back. "Show me where." James pointed it out, watching as Bonnie placed the small dot on her face. Looking up, she smiled at them while closing her book. "I got you all some sweets. Remus, there were too many chocolates to choose from, so you got the lot."

Remus's closed eyes widened as he sat up, rubbing his forehead. "You didn't have to," he mumbled with a timid smile.

Bonnie only smiled and shrugged as she pulled out the bag of sweets. She handed each boy their favorites, smirking at their astonished faces because she knew them so well. Each thanked her profusely, Remus immediately opening one of his chocolate packages.

"Er... James?" Bonnie called, making the boy swallow his licorice wand quickly and hum in response. Smiling sheepishly, she asked sweetly, "Can I... er—Do you mind if I borrow your cloak tonight?"

Sirius furrowed his eyebrows, glancing at Remus and Peter who were also staring at her curiously. James bit his lip. "What for? I don't mind, but—"

"You're nosey, I get it. It's just a late lesson with Dumbledore. I rather not deal with Filch tonight," Bonnie said, thinking of the best excuse she could.

"These lessons, what are they for?" Sirius asked, taking a large bite of a chocolate frog before it could jump away.

Bonnie bit her lip, pulling her sweater over her hands. All four noticed the anxious habits she possessed, and Sirius frowned knowing she was about to lie or twist the truth. "Just remedial lessons on some more advanced spells—"

"Why?" Remus asked.

"Because he asked me to."

"You're lying, Bonnie," Peter said, pulling out another bean from the Every-Flavor Beans she bought him.

"Well, you lot are nosey. So, I can use it?" she asked again, growing frustrated at them. She wanted to yell everything she knew, but it wasn't time. She couldn't do it yet.
