"SHE HASN'T COME home," Sirius said aloud, pacing slightly. "Where could she have gone?"
Remus fell into the couch, sighing. "I checked St. Mungo's, Padfoot. She's not there. Maybe she needed to cool off."
Sirius growled something incoherent. He looked up to Remus with wide eyes. "What if they got her? What if they took her, Moony?"
Remus sighed again, standing up to comfort his best friend. Sirius fell into his embrace, his entire body shaking. "She'll be fine. She's Bonnie, yeah? Been through hell, and she's still here."
Sirius shook his head at Remus's words. "What if Dumbledore said something awful? What if he makes her stay away from us?"
Remus gave Sirius an incredulous look. "Sirius, are you hearing yourself, right now?"
Sirius laughed lightly, pushing himself away from Remus. "Sod off, Johnny boy, I'm a nervous boyfriend here."
Remus laughed, leaving a hand on Sirius's shoulder. "We're not going to be able to find her if she doesn't want to be found. We've checked almost everywhere, don't you think?"
"I don't like her being out there alone," Sirius mumbled, "especially after what we just went through. She should be here, relaxing, with me."
Remus snorted, walking to sit back down. He grabbed his book that was left on the side table, and he opened it to its bookmarked page. Remus opened his mouth to say something when a shimmery ball of light flew into the room.
"I'm fine. I just... er—need some time alone. I'm safe, promise. Stop freaking out, Sirius."
Remus snorted as Sirius looked to the ball of light with narrowed eyes. "You stop going off to—and the ball of light is gone. Great."
Sirius fell into the couch, looking from his hands to Remus. He smirked, remembering every moment at Hogwarts was almost always with Remus's head stuck in a book. Sirius scooted over, trying to peer at what was the title of the book when Remus closed the book with an annoyed sigh.
"Yes?"
Sirius smirked. "Don't be boring, Moony. It's only—ah—six o'clock. Want to go check on Marlene?"
Remus shook his head. "Not yet. There's a lot of people there. I don't want to crowd her. We should wait for Bonnie to go, anyhow."
Sirius nodded before falling back to couch with such power that his body sort of bounced before it landed softly again. "Want to watch a movie, then?"
Remus snorted a bit louder than before. "Are you that bored of me, Sirius?"
"I could never be bored of you, Moony!" Sirius said with a loud gasp. "I'm just bored in general, and a bit sick with worry, you know."
Remus laughed, walking over to their cheap telly that Bonnie found. There was a small collection of movies that they owned. Remus chose the Star Wars, simply because it would be long and keep Sirius's brain occupied. Once he put it in, Remus was about to sit on his chair again when Sirius made a noise of complaint.
"Really? Going to leave a sad boy all alone over here? James would have already cuddled me up by now! For shame—"
"Shut up," Remus groaned out, plopping his worn body next to Sirius. Sirius yelped happily, fixing his body so that his arm was touching Remus. Remus knew Sirius's best mode of comfort was physical touch, whether it be a leg or an arm touching something. He did not say a word as the movie started.
In St. Mungo's, Marlene was tended to. The Healer in charge of her said she simply was malnourished and a bit shaken from the Cruciatus. She, unlike the other pisoners from Malfoy Manor, was in much better shape. The other prisoners consisted of two witches, three wizards, and one child. The wizards were Ministry workers. One of the witches was an ex-Auror. The other witch was a mother at the wrong place during the wrong time. The child, much to Marlene's sadness, had been the only one left in his family. He was six. Six. The Death Eaters were sick fucks, all of them.
