"ARE THE PROFESSORS walking on the roof with no way down?" James asked Remus casually as they waited for their dates.

Remus nodded. "Yup. Dumbledore is chuckling as we speak. I do have to admit I saw more of Flitwick than I ever needed."

"Please redirect your eyes, my dear men, to see the beauty that has graced us," Sirius said with a wolfish grin as Lily began to walk down the stairs. Her pale yellow dress did wonders, and James was staring at her like a gaping fish.

Lily winked at Sirius as she passed, feigning reluctance. "Do I look that bad, Potter?"

James began stuttering, "N-No! You look- I mean- This is- I don't—er... wow."

Lily grinned. "Very articulate, darling."

James blushed at the endearment.

Remus grinned as Marlene descended next, the pair going together for the hell of it. She wore a deep purple dress that had Remus thinking awful things as she neared him. "Aren't you dashing?" Marlene teased, tugging Remus's tie to kiss his cheek. She realized his tie was a mess, so she chuckled as she moved to fix it.

Mary walked down with Alice, both agreeing to be Peter's date since Fabian and Frank could not be there. Peter told them how beautiful they were in their similar pale pink dresses.

Sirius began to bounce on the balls of his feet. He felt the anticipation bubble inside his chest, and Lily had to place a hand on his shoulder to get him to calm down. He already knew she would be beautiful, but he was growing impatient. He wanted her, and he wouldn't wait much longer.

Finally, she turned the corner to see her friends smiling up at her. James, grinning like a madman, nudged Peter to look at both Remus and Sirius staring at the woman in awe. Remus recovered quickly, smirking to himself before saying, "Well goddamn, I never thought I'd see the day the great Sirius Black was speechless."

And Sirius was.

Speechless, of course.

Before she made it down the rest of the stairs, Bonnie managed to meet his eyes warily. Sirius let a grin cover his face as he walked toward her. Leaning toward her ear, he muttered, "Are you trying to kill me, sweetheart?"

Bonnie blushed, placing a chaste kiss on his cheek before turning toward their friends. "We look hot. Let's go have the best bloody night ever!"

The group cheered, each couple walking into the Great Hall. Lily's voice was quiet under the music, but they all laughed as she said, "Which one of you put the professors on the roof?"

With a wave of Headmaster Dumbledore's wand, the professors gracefully fell to the ground, eyeing the Marauders with great distaste and some fondness (Minnie always loved them, what could they say?) Each couple and trio walked their own way for a moment, some getting drinks or food while the others went straight to the dance floor.

Sirius took Bonnie to the dance floor immediately, wanting to be as close as possible to the girl. "Dear Godric, Bonnie. Sinful thoughts are roaming... mini-Sirius is awakening. How dare you?"

Bonnie winked, moving impossibly closer to lean toward his ear. "I think it's only fair that I get to do a bit of teasing tonight? You do it every other day."

Sirius growled lowly, bringing his hand lower, but she grabbed it to rest against her lower back. "Naughty, you are. Would you like to know exactly what I thought when I saw you?"

Bonnie blushed a bit. "What?"

"Remember that song you liked when we were out on the Quidditch pitch?" Sirius questioned, completely taking Bonnie off guard since her mind was in the gutter. He chuckled, "Well, do you?"
