BONNIE WAS TRAPPED. This was not Tom Riddle pushing himself into her head, for he would never speak so freely with her there. Bonnie was sleeping, and she felt herself being drawn into his mind. He was angry. His anger fueled her own, and she felt her scar heating up as she slept. She could not wake up.
Through Voldemort's eyes, she could see they were at Malfoy Manor again. There were many faces she recognized.
"Tell me, Narcissa, Bellatrix," he started with a sneer. Nagini slithered from his arm down the table. The snake seemed to be searching, preying, waiting for command. "How do you expect me to react coming here to find out my prisoners have been released, and you still managed to let the Miller girl go."
"Sir... My Lord..." Christopher hesitated. "If I had any knowledge that this was happening, I'm sure I would not have let my darling sister go."
"Yes, but you forget, Christopher," Voldemort snarled, "they know what you have done to her. You are almost as desirable as me these days... with your twisted, sick ways."
Christopher almost looked ashamed.
Who knew? Tom Riddle thought what Christopher did to Bonnie was twisted.
"You cannot be caught or killed yet, much like our dear Rodolphus. Tell me, Bella, are you missing your husband? Want revenge?"
Bellatrix growled. "If only you'd let us just kill her."
"Are you doubting—denying—my command?" His voice was amused, as if he dared her to say yes.
"No, M-My Lord. I'm merely suggesting that the Miller brat won't be of any use to us," Bellatrix said then quickly looked down as if she regretted the words.
Voldemort stood. "There is a traitor. Though I know one of you could never be the rat, I do have some suspicions." He walked over to stand behind Walburga and Orion Black. "Both of your sons failed me. Both of your sons have decided to turn against their family. They must make you so proud."
Walburga dipped her head low. "No, My Lord. I regret the day I didn't end their lives when I had the chance."
"Well, unlike Druella and Cygnus here who raised at least two of their children correctly, you won't be shown mercy. This is their fault, do you understand?" Voldemort asked. "After all, it's not only Regulus Black and Sirius Black who were helping the prisoners. It was not only Bonnie Miller. No, it was also a dear servant of yours. And because, Orion, you can't even keep a tight leash on your elves!... you'll face the consequences. Do you understand?"
Orion gulped.
"I asked you a question, Orion."
"Yes, My Lord, I understand," he whispered.
"I won't make any large movements until after the newest Hogwarts graduates join our ranks, of course, but it does not matter. You won't even be there to help infiltrate the Ministry. You won't be there to see Lord Voldemort rule. You've failed me too many times, Orion. I've been a merciful Lord," Voldemort tutted. "Nagini. Dinner."
The snake attacked Orion.
Bonnie woke up screaming.
"BONNIE! BONNIE, it's all right! REMUS! Remus, please!" Sirius coaxed, but Bonnie continued to thrash.
The door opened roughly, and Sirius tried his best to calm Bonnie. Remus ran in, kneeling next to the bed on her side. He grabbed her hand, using her index and middle finger to rest on his pulse.
"Come on, Bon," Remus mumbled. "You're all right, Bonnie. Breathe. In. Out. Feel my heartbeat. Match it. You've got it. You're all right. Breathe, Bon."
