THE FOLLOWING DAYS, Bonnie was given off from her lessons to get better. After seeing the scar, McGonagall did every healing spell she knew. Finally, Dumbledore decided Bonnie should go to Madam Pomfrey, but no one would know she was there for as long as they could keep it a secret. Before leaving, Bonnie insisted Dumbledore did not touch or wear the ring until she was there and they figured out a way to destroy it. Dumbledore promised, knowing Bonnie knew more than him about these Horcruxes, which was not something he said lightly.

So, Bonnie spent three days in the Wing in secret, Pomfrey doing everything she could to rid the scar but nothing worked. It healed, but the line wouldn't falter. Bonnie had gotten a two-day headache as well, something Pomfrey couldn't do much about. It seemed the only thing Pomfrey could heal was her busted lip, but even that was still rather swollen.

Dumbledore and McGonagall visited often, McGonagall telling her how the Marauders and her girl friends knew she was there, but they were not permitted to come. How they found out? Bonnie didn't tell her about the map, but she snorted at the fact McGonagall thought they would stay away. It wasn't in their nature. She knew one of them would find a way.

And so they did.

The third night, Bonnie was finally able to fall asleep when she heard something knock into the bed next to her. Turning sharply, she almost screamed when she saw Mary and Remus standing there with sheepish grins.

Furrowing her brows, she frowned at their concerned expressions.

"What's wrong? What'd you do?" Bonnie croaked out, not really using her voice too often in the past three days.

"Bonnie, you look awful," Mary blurted, Remus hitting her on her arm for doing so. But it was true!

Remus and Mary stared at the witch with pity and concern in their eyes because Bonnie's lip had not healed as much as she thought it had, jutting out further than it should. Bonnie's eyes held large bags, mostly from her late night reading and writing in her journal. They had found a Horcrux, but how would they destroy it. Bonnie had screamed out in frustration the night before, tears leaking from her eyes. It was all too much sometimes. Besides her deep bags and swollen lips, they couldn't tell anything else was wrong. They were mistaken, however, due to the fact that they hadn't seen her walk. Bonnie still had a sort of limp, her back aching immensely because of that damn scar. That was the other problem keeping her up at night... she couldn't find a way to get comfortable with the long scar throbbing.

"Why, thank you, Mary. Truly," Bonnie drawled, looking over their shoulders to see if Madam Pomfrey was awake. She was glad to see the lights off. "Why are you two here?"

Remus frowned deeper. "We were worried about you. You're lucky it's just us two, actually, because James was planning a whole battalion against McGonagall if she refused to let us see you one last time. And without the cloak..."

"Oh, Merlin! Right, it's in my bag, just there," Bonnie said worriedly. Remus went into her bag, frowning as he touched a book that was all about dark magic. He saw she also had that notebook she lugs around everywhere. It was open slightly from its position in the bag, a page shining a torn out potion recipe: wolfsbane. "Remus?"

Remus shot up, pulling the cloak out with a nod and a gulp. "R-Right... anyway, we figured it was best to send me from the Marauders because I'm the lesser of evils and Mary because..."

"Because Lily was too busy crying over you being hurt and Marlene was ready to get in James's army. Alice and the Prewetts have noticed your absence as well, we can only lie so much," Mary said with a frown. "What happened?"

"Dumbledore and I were practicing spells when one went badly wrong. I went into a wall... but the wall did more damage to me," Bonnie said without missing a beat, knowing the lie Dumbledore had planned very well. Remus, however, knew it was a lie. He saw right through it despite Mary's innocence.
