BONNIE FOUND REGULUS alone for the first time in months. Perhaps it was luck that she had gone to Myrtle's bathroom to make Remus's potion, or perhaps it was coincidental that Regulus was sitting by the sinks with a cigarette hanging from his lips. He eyed the snakes on the sinks with disinterest, but he only looked away when Bonnie walked in.

She didn't care.

"Regulus! Are you all right?" she asked immediately, dropping the ingredients to run over to him.

Regulus sneered her way, in a way he never had. Bonnie noticed for a fraction of a second, a flicker of fear lit up his features.

"What the hell do you want?"

Bonnie recoiled with a flinch, but even she knew those weren't his words. She saw the glazed look over his eyes. She saw the struggle to remain in the room with her.

"I want to know what happened the summer," she stated firmly.

He laughed mockingly. "And why would I tell you?"

"Because I care," she said with a determined look in her eye. She noticed his eyes moving from her to the wall behind her. "What happened?"

He grinned. It was a manic grin. It was a grin that Regulus Black never had done.

Bonnie wasted no time running to him, elbow to his neck while her wand was pointed at his head. It physically hurt her to hurt him in any aspect, but she needed him to listen. He struggled to grab his wand, but as soon as he did, Bonnie had knocked it from his hand. The wand fell to the floor with a clank and rolled to the other side of the lavatory. He stared at her with anger, malice, anything other than the care that two had grown to have for each other.

"What did they do to you?" she yelled, and she watched him flinch.

"Get the hell off me, you bloody lunatic!" he screamed back, finally getting the strength to push her off. She hit the ground with a thud as Regulus ran for his wand. Bonnie deflected a spell he shot at her, the stream of light hitting a cubicle causing the toilet to burst. He snarled and shot another spell, only this time, it hit her.

She fell back again before yelling, "Stupefy!"

Regulus was not quick enough. He was shocked as he was thrown back into the mirror behind him. Bonnie saw he was stuck, the spell not allowing him to move. She watched as the sheen over his eyes seemed to fall away.

Regulus screamed in pain.

"STOP IT!" he shouted. "MUM, PLEASE!"

His eyes were shut in pain, and Bonnie found herself tearing up. She sent the countercurse quickly, mumbling, "Renervate" under her breath. She fell next to hin, the water from the burst toilet flowing to them like a river.

"Reggie, Reggie, listen to me," she said quickly, pulling his wand from his hand just in case. She cupped his face. "Reggie, you're safe. You're safe."

He stopped screaming, only small whimpers leaving his mouth until his eyes opened. "B-Bonnie?"

"You're safe," she repeated, pulling him close as he started to sob in her chest. She ran her hands through his hair and whispered soothing words, allowing him to cry.

"They know," he choked, "that I was the traitor."

"I know," Bonnie whispered, "Snape told us. We couldn't do anything. He said the Dark Lord had you."

Regulus seemed to sob all over again, screaming at how his life was turning out.

Before they could utter another word, Professor McGonagall rushed into the bathroom, yelping in shock. "E-Explain yourselves! What happened!?"
