DUMBLEDORE SENT BONNIE a letter that he didn't want to meet until two weeks from their last. Bonnie thought this was odd, but she didn't say anything about it. Was he going to search for the ring by himself? She hoped he wouldn't because she truly felt each Horcrux was going to be its own challenge. She couldn't argue with Dumbledore, so she went on her days as normal.

The dinner the Marauders and the females ate together was a surprisingly good time. Lily and James found any moment to argue, Peter and Marlene arguing here and there as well, but it was fun. Remus watched her curiously throughout the dinner, wondering what Dumbledore could've said to cause such an attack as she had. He also felt that feeling that she knew more than she was letting on, making him nervous about the secret he kept from everyone. Bonnie ignored his gaze, trying to forget how much she had weighed down on her shoulders.

The following week, Lily found every moment to question Bonnie's odd friendship with the Marauders. Mary was normally friendly with Sirius because they were half-siblings, but she never spoke often with his group of friends. Marlene was friendly with everyone, always sparking conversations with any student in passing, so she had spoken with the Marauders on occasion. Lily and Bonnie, however, always stayed away from them because of how they treated Severus Snape. Lily was irritated, to be honest, but even she couldn't deny the smile on her face when she watched Bonnie laugh with them.

It was their lesson in Potions on Friday that Bonnie had her first conversation with Severus Snape since she went back in time.

Professor Slughorn had partnered the pair together. Lily, who was normally partnered with Severus or Remus, was partnered with Mary while Marlene was with Peter. Professor Slughorn told the group of Slytherins and Gryffindors that they would be creating the Wit-Sharpening Potion that would be taken as an exam grade. Bonnie was angered because she didn't remember this happening before, nor did she remember how to brew it.

Severus and Bonnie's friendship was odd, to say the least. He gave her a grimace-type of a smile when she made it to his cauldron. Severus did not like Marlene or Mary, nor did the girls like him either, but Bonnie and Lily held soft spots in Severus's heart. Lily because of the deep affection he had for her, and Bonnie for...well, for the sisterly actions she always partook in.

"How are you, Severus?" Bonnie said lightly as she opened her book to the proper potion. Memorizing the ingredients, she felt the part of her brain that loved potions breaking free.

Severus only gave her another smile. "Better than you, I've heard around. I'll get the ingredients, you start the cauldron."

"You're right about that," she murmured as he disappeared to get the ingredients.

When he left her table, she immediately saw James trip him on his way. Sirius, who ended up as Avery's partner, began to laugh to which he received a hex turning his shoulder-length dark hair green. The class erupted in laughter, Bonnie laughing as well. She couldn't help herself.

Soon, Sirius threw a spell at Avery, which started a small duel. Severus came to Avery's aid as James came to Sirius's. Slughorn had gone to his storages for a moment, so it was a neverending round of spells. James shouted a spell to make Avery's legs jelly while Sirius stunned Severus quickly. Lily was shouting at the Marauders, Remus and Peter stifling their laughter on the side. Marlene quickly pulled Lily back as Slughorn walked back into the room with a yell of fright.

"Potter! Black! DETENTION! Release Mr. Avery from that hex! Same to Mr. Snape!" Slughorn yelled, his chubby face becoming redder than the apple root he held in his hand. Bonnie snorted to herself when James and Sirius said Avery had started it.

Mary groaned before siding with her half-cousin. She rose her hand and said, "Avery made Sirius's hair green, Professor..."

"That's no excuse! Twenty points from Gryffindor! Ten from Slytherin!" he shouted again. Bonnie rolled her eyes at the obvious favoritism of the House.
