SIRIUS DID NOT want to leave Bonnie sick in bed. Lily had walked into the room to the pair sitting in silence, Sirius holding Bonnie's hand as the witch slept peacefully. Lily allowed a smile to grace her face.

"McGonagall's already come looking for you," Lily said. "She knows it is your birthday."

Sirius shrugged. "Bonnie's more important."

"Than your birthday?" Lily asked surprised. Normally, Sirius was all for taking in the attention. She remembers well the times Sirius would walk into the Great Hall with his booming voice wanting everyone to sing to him. He truly has changed.

"Than anything, Evans."

"You love her."

"You know, people keep saying that," Sirius teased, letting her hand go to turn and face Lily. "How do I know? I mean I don't act like Prongs with you—"

"Potter doesn't love me—"

"Yes, he does," Sirius snapped. "You just don't think so. He has loved you for years. It may have started as a bit of fun, but he cares for you."

Lily sighed. "Regardless, you need to act on it. You don't have to act like anyone for it to be love. You just need to be yourself."

"I need to make sure she's all right. You think Minnie will let me bring her to the Hospital Wing?" Sirius asked, standing.

"I think Bonnie'll do better here. We'll take her if it grows worse. Come on, Sirius, we have class," Lily urged.

"What if something happens?"

Lily moved forward to grab his arm gently. "Don't worry so much. We'll check on her during lunch."

Sirius gulped and nodded. Moving to leave, he heard a slight whimper come from Bonnie's lips. Turning sharply, he saw Bonnie frown as if she was in pain. He moved back to her bed without another thought. Grabbing her hand, he mumbled, "Minnie'll just have to wait until dinner to see me."

Lily sighed and nodded, leaving the wizard.

When she made it back down, she saw James, Remus, and Peter waiting. Marlene and Mary had left for lessons. "He's staying with her."

James let a grin form on his face. "I wouldn't expect anything less. The party is still on whether or not he attends. If anything, we'll move the party to your dorm."

"Lovely."

"Can't leave Bonnie out," Peter said knowingly.

"Nothing would be the same without her," Remus agreed with a nod.

Bonnie didn't wake back up until well after lunch. When her eyes opened, she saw Sirius twiddling his wand next to her bed with a slight frustrated look.

"What are you doing?"

He jumped, his wand flying across the room. "Merlin's beard, Bon!" Bonnie giggled before a coughing spell started. He moved quickly to help her sit up. He smirked. "You know, it seems I'm always at your sickbed, sweetheart."

"Yeah, well, it's not a good thing," Bonnie said with a roll of her eyes.

He tilted his head. "I quite enjoy taking care of you. What can I get you?"

"Can you help me up? What time is it?"

"Lunch, I think," Sirius said as he helped Bonnie sit up. She moved to stand, her brain still a bit fuzzy causing her to fall into Sirius. "If you were falling for me, you should've just said so," he teased with a smirk. Bonnie sent a glare his way.
