EUPHEMIA POTTER REFUSED to allow Bonnie to leave the Potter Home. Once Bonnie was beginning to walk around with her slight limp, Euphemia showed the girl to her new room. The room was right in between James and Sirius, and it had a beautiful pale blue decor. Bonnie began to weep to the older woman, asking why she was being so nice and refusing to let Bonnie pay for anything... the woman only hugged the girl tightly, promising nothing could change her mind. Bonnie would be safe at the Potters.

Bonnie spent the remainder of the summer under the Potter's roof and with the safety of James and Sirius. The two boys took care of her, far more than had ever been cared for before. Bonnie spent the first night sobbing because of how much she loved her friends, crying that she would save them from the fate they received in her first life. She couldn't even think of any of them dying again; the pain was too much to bear.

When their O.W.L. results flew through the window along with their Hogwart's letters, Euphemia gushed at the three. She was more eager than they were it seemed. Sirius opened his first, a large grin plastered on his face as he rose an eyebrow dramatically to his two best mates.

James opened his as Bonnie opened hers. With a grin, James yelled, "SWITCH!" Bonnie took James's results while Sirius took hers and James took Sirius's. Bonnie read over the Potter boy's results with a roll of her eyes. She knew he'd do great. As much as she hated to admit to the two egotistical men, they were abnormally smart.

"Impressive," Bonnie hummed, eyes scanning at each O on the page besides Herbology and History of Magic. Herbology was an E and History of Magic an A. "Switch."

Bonnie's eyes rose higher at the sight of Sirius's immaculate sheet. There were O's on everything except History of Magic, the boy securing an E in its place. "This is really good, Sirius," Bonnie muttered, jealous that he still somehow did better than her. She had gone back in time, and Sirius still did better.

James snorted, knowing exactly what she was thinking. "An E in History, an A in Divination... ironic," he said, his eyes twinkling at her results. There were O's in everything else.

Euphemia took all three letters from them, going to stick them on the fridge like a proud parent—she was a proud parent. Sirius grinned at the action, moving to open his letter for the year.

"Only two new books," Sirius said, nodding at the sixth year Hogwart's list. "Prongs?" Bonnie turned from her list to see James staring at something in his envelope. "Are you okay, mate?"

James lifted a badge making Bonnie blanch for a second before recognition lit up her features. "MINNIE MADE YOU CAPTAIN!" Sirius belted, jumping over the chair that separated the two men. James was attacked in a hug by Sirius, a few tears leaving James's eye because he was proud of himself, truly thinking McGonagall wouldn't pick him for his mischievous behavior. Quidditch was something James Potter was proud of, and he had every right by the way he played.

When James finally pushed Sirius off, Bonnie gave the bespectacled boy a more gentle hug after she limped toward him. "I'm so proud of you," she whispered, "but I knew you'd get it."

"Of course, you did," James said sarcastically when he pulled away. Euphemia called for a celebratory dinner and went to work immediately. Sirius and James decided to go play on their brooms with a snitch James had nicked, Bonnie following to sit in the sun for a while.

Summer went peacefully just like that afternoon. Bonnie found herself sitting outside most days drawing or painting with supplies Fleamont had picked up one afternoon after work (she told him not to but was grateful nonetheless). Sometimes the boys would come to sit outside with her, other times she was alone, but it didn't falter the peace Bonnie felt being in the Potter home.
