JAMES AND LILY were glowing despite the tension in the flat of Sirius, Bonnie, and Remus. Everyone knew they were the third couple to be engaged, and everyone was very happy for the pair. However, the tensions were from Dumbledore's words. They had just come from an Order meeting where Dumbledore had asked Remus to visit a werewolf colony during Christmas. Sirius was the most miffed of them all, stating Remus had no reason to go to a colony; nevertheless, Remus had calmed the dog down, reassuring that nothing could really happen. He was already a wolf.

The group of Gryffindors (and Reggie) who were planning the rescue of Marlene were meeting with the intention of getting a plan in order. It was December eighth, and Narcissa sent a simply 09/12/78 at 16:00.

Without anything else to go on, Bonnie was letting her friends in on what she thought was the best course of action.

"Around three, we'll all meet in the village down the road. Wear hoods, don't let anyone see your face. Make sure you have your wand, James," she paused when James made a noise of complaint before shrugging because he knew she was right, "and we'll make our way to the Manor. Frank, Gideon, and Mary will take the invisibility cloak while our animal friends turn into said animals. Remus, Regulus, Lily, and I will stay upfront waiting for a sign from Narcissa. Fabian and Alice, you'll be with us, but you'll only come in if necessary to help. I don't want too many of us in there, it'll give them an opportunity to grab you and take another hostage. Us four," she said referring to her group, "will not do a thing unless Narcissa gives us a signal until it's ten minutes past four.

"That'll be where Pete, James, and Sirius come in. You three will be camping in the woods behind the Manor. You'll only come out if I send a Patronus. Sirius, you'll be waiting closer than the other two. You know the Manor better than any of us besides Regulus."

Sirius frowned. "I don't like just you four going in."

"Well that's where the three under the cloak come into play. They'll be right next to us the whole time. If things go south, they can just appear and help fight," Bonnie said with a nod.

"Don't lose my cloak," James warned.

"The more people, the more chances of one of us being taken," Lily concluded, nodding. "It's good, as long as Narcissa helps us."

"Yes, well, if not, we just barge in—Marauder style," Peter said with a laugh.

"Exactly, Petey," Mary said with a laugh.

Bonnie smirked. "Remember, if you see Narcissa with her wand, don't injure her terribly, but you will have to fight. The other Death Eaters cannot know she's on our side."

Remus smiled and nodded. He raised his glass of firewhiskey, a gift from Fabian to Bonnie for putting up with Dumbledore that entire meeting without blowing a fuse at how he just brushed Marlene off. "To Marlene's rescue."

The group repeated, tipping back their glasses. Bonnie smiled. "Don't worry, Marls. We're coming."

The next day came all too quickly. Remus was making breakfast with a stony expression, everyone knowing the wolf cared very much about Marlene despite their shagging relationship. Sirius drank his coffee black, itching for battle already. He looked to Bonnie. "Why do you want James, Peter, and I out of the way when you're allowing Lily to fight first."

"They underestimate Lily because of her blood," Bonnie said darkly. "They won't try and take her out immediately. Same with Remus because of his wolfish tendencies. They will think they're the worst of the worst and come straight for Reg and I. They'll falter with Reggie, screaming out traitor and other bollocks. They won't kill me. He wants me. Voldemort will stop at nothing to get the girl from the future," Bonnie chuckled lightly. "As for you three... you three are impulsive. I need to make sure you three only come in if needed because they'll go for you first. Your Gryffindor will kick in, and you'll try to save everyone. It's ridiculous, but it'll work."
