Chapter 58: Cai Xukun

"Answer me!" Jungkook urged.

Wiping the remaining tears streaming down on her face, Lisa broadened her shoulder and faced him.

"You left me with no choice..." She murmured.

Jungkook was smiling thinking that he won the argument. He was certain she would surrender by his charms.

"This time, I will be the one that leaves you. I dare you, not a single drop of your tears will drop because of me!" Her gaze hardened. There was no sign that she will compromise.

Jungkook was startled by her demeanour. He was not her to refuse him. He was certain that she will choose him.

"Jungkook ssi... I am the one to be blamed for the pain and confusion that you're facing right now. I feel so guilty that I ate me alive. I can't live well from the day you met your accident and I took it as my karma for hurting you. I want to succumb myself in deep sorrow, regretting my action until I feel suffocated lose my mind. I thought it would be the only to repay you, but then, you just happened to come back to me as a new person. That time, I was so happy. I don't know if it's a miracle or a curse. Thinking that maybe God still loves me, he sent you back to me. We broke into your villa and got caught. We met, but you can't recognize me. My heart broke into pieces." Lisa put her hand on her chest. Allowing herself to let out her thoughts.

"Then, we get to know each other again. It was nice to know you again, but I still can't deny that I miss the old you. When you said you like me, I was happy but my conscience was eating me alive. I will hurt you again one day. You don't deserve someone like me. I acted indifferently to show you I was not sincere being with you. However, you kept coming back to me. And I fell again. Hard."

Jungkook lowered his head, staring at the carpeted floor.

"Jungkook, me leaving you today is not because my love for you dissipated. I just want you to love yourself first and for me to love myself too. If we are meant to be, fate will find us again. For now, the only thing that I want from you is your forgiveness even when you can't even acknowledge it. I will be contented."

"You are gonna leave me?" He scoffed.

Lisa nodded and Jungkook hit the coffee table until it breaks. The glasses scattered all over the carpet but both of them remain unflinching.

Lisa knew he will get mad. She tried to remain calm. One of them needs to stay cool.

"I'm sorry that I hurt you. You don't deserve the pain that I caused. Because of me...."

"You..." Jungkook stood while massaging his head. Was he in pain?

Lisa was worried. She tried to get closer but he stood and headed to the elevator.

Lisa ran after him. Afraid if he gonna get into trouble or accident.

"Jungkook, wait. Listen to me, please."

Lisa pulled his shirt. He was too strong that he dragged her with him.

"Is there anything that I can show you that I'm not lying? The photos, our chat messages..."

"All those stuff can be fabricated!" 

"Benjamin... You're best friends. I can ask him to explain things to you..."

"Stop. I don't want to meet or know any of your accomplices. You could have hired Ben to lie to me." He cut.

Lisa was helpless. Jungkook didn't believe anything she said. Even Benjamin.

"How much money do you want? Is YG doesn't pay enough?" Her grip loosened. Never in million years, she thought he would say that.

Jungkook swayed Lisa's hands away from his shirt and continued walking. He pushed the elevator button and waited for it to open. Lisa can't catch up with his long strides. Just before the elevator door fully closed...

"Ask your mother!"

He's gone. Again. Lisa stared at the elevator, hoping that he will return.

Lisa was alone in the studio. She just ended her lesson that morning. The trainees left for their lunch break. The show's gonna end so soon and she as the mentor also feel pressured. The workload increased and she can lose her focus. She examined the evaluation sheets to see the trainees that require more attention.

Once a while, her mind will absently mindedly go back to their argument the previous night. He hasn't called her and also didn't have the gut to call him first. She was scared.

A knock by the door caught her attention, entering Kun with his casual clothing. He must just meet with the directors.

"What are doing here? On your own?" He strolled in with his charming smile.

Lisa showed him the sheets she was holding before inviting him to join her.

"I want to help them as much as I can. But, still, they are the one that would be on the stage." She sighed.

"Don't worry too much. You did well by assisting them with what they need. Have faith in them."

Lisa nodded. "I know. I was sad that we can't debut all of the trainees. They wear all good and talented. It's a pity."

"Don't be discouraged. They have a lot of chance in the future." Kun coaxed her.

Lisa returned her focus to the papers. The silence was engulfing them. Kun seemed wanted to say something.

"Lisa, I owe an apology."

"What are you talking about? You did nothing wrong."

"That's what you said. But, I know everything that happened to you and Jungkook was because he saw us that night, wasn't he?"

Lisa didn't know how to respond. She didn't want Kun to feel burdened.

"It's normal for couples to argue sometimes. Don't take it to heart Kun."

Kun was not satisfied. He knew it was more than just an argument.

"Lisa, please don't lie to me. A normal argument won't make you cancel your wedding. Let me repay my mistake. Let me meet him, I can explain things to him."

Lisa wanted to scoff internally.

"There's no need to do so... we broke up... for good."

Kun was confused. He was certain they were still seeing each other a few times after their fight. That's why he wanted to meet Jungkook to resolve the misunderstanding.

"How...?"

"Don't stress yourself, Kun. I'm not sad. Not all couples will end up together." Lisa patted his shoulder.

"Lisa, I'm so sorry. You and him...." Kun shook his head and he so regretted.

"Hey Kun, you're like a younger brother to me. Please stand by my side and make me laugh when we're still here. Okay?"

He nodded and gave her a small smile.

"Okay..."
