Chapter 14: Reunite

Jeon Jungkook

After telling Lisa his intention to woo her, he decided to call her brother James for permission. Jungkook had made James as his acquaintances since their encounter during his wedding day. He told him he was going to court Lisa and James was more than happy to allow it. Maybe Jungkook could be the one that will break Lisa's wall.

He gave her flowers daily, went to dates and spent weekends together in his apartment. Yes, they became friends as Lisa said but Jungkook wanted more. He wanted to love her. He was serious when he proposed to her.

He spammed messages to her every morning and night that sometimes she replied and sometimes left on reading. He doesn't care as long as she received and acknowledged them. Until one day, his messages were left unread. He was anxious for a whole day thinking if she was okay. Before he could grab his phone to call her, James called him first.

"Hello, hyung."

"Hello, JK. I slipped up. She knew about us." His eyes widen. Oh, that must be it. She must think she was played by us. His closed his eyes in distress.

"No wonder she was ignoring me these days."

"I'm sorry Jungkook. Hahaha. Good luck in winning her back. See you later." James hung up the call. He left Jungkook to clear things with Lisa by himself. What a nice supporter.

Once again he scrolled her contact to find Lisa's name, he got another call. This time from his father.

"Yes, father. What's wrong?" He asked in worry.

"We found her Jungkook. We found Somi." His heart fastened at the statement.

"I'm going back to Busan now," He ended the call and packed his things. The plan to persuade Lisa was forgotten for a moment.

Jeon Household in Busan

Jungkook knocked on the door of his house. He sped over the limit to reach his home as fast as he could. His mother 's figure emerged from behind the door with teary eyes. He hugged her mother and kissed on the cheeks.

"Where is she mom?" He doesn't realise his voice was hoarse. He was holding tears too from the moment he left the dorm.

"She is the living room." He let his mother guided him there. He was nervous but happy at the same time. They found her after 15 years. Nearing the living room, he saw a silhouette of a girl from behind. He cant see her face only her black hair.

The girl turned when she heard their footstep. Jungkook was shocked to see who she was. She was Somi from Red Velvet. 'What absurdity is this?'

"Somi? Is that you?" He asked her. Somi nodded with tears in her eyes.

He ran to hug his long-lost sister. They both cried and their parents joined them.

"Oppa. I missed you." She sobbed in his chest.

"I missed you too. I'm sorry I don't find you sooner. I'm sorry Somi." He released her from his arm and say beside her. Somi sat between Jungkook and her biological mother.

"Nevermind oppa. Kim eomma took care of me well like her own daughter. She was sorry that she didn't approach you sooner. She was afraid to lose me. She only told me during her deathbed last week. She called Mr Jeon. We met after her funeral."

Somi was kidnapped when she was five years old when she, her brother and nanny went to the park. Somi was whining for ice cream and the nanny left to buy one for her. She was supposed to stay with Jungkook but she wandered without her brother noticing her. They did everything to find her, offered rewards and received fake calls for the money. Her mother was in depression for three years. They barely made it through.

"That's okay Somi. We are together now. You are back. That's enough." His father said.

"I'd never thought that the Golden Maknae of BTS is my brother. I am a lucky girl. I wonder how eyes will send death glance to me?" She joked trying to lighten the mood.

"And I will send a deadly glare to guys that will be eyeing you later," Jungkook added.

"Both of our children become idols. You guys achieved your childhood dreams. I'm so proud." Their mother added wiping her tears. Smiles decorated the family of four faces. Grateful for the happiness they have now.

That night

Somi approached her brother who was in his room. He was staring at his phone typing something and then deleted it back. She eyed him from behind.

"Who are you texting?" Jungkook was startled. He dropped his phone to the floor. Somi was eyeing him suspiciously.

"No one." He put his phone away and gave her his full attention.

"Must be a girl." She concluded and saw her brother froze. "Your eyes can't lie Oppa. Maybe people really don't change much."

"You remember that." He was trying to run from the topic.

"Don't try to divert my attention. Who was she?"

"Just someone that I have my eyes on. But she's complicated." He sighed.

"So there is a woman that immune to your charms Oppa?"

"No. She just playing hard to get. I need to try harder. What should I do?"

"Just win her with things she likes. Who is she oppa?" She wanted to know the lucky girl. Jungkook was shy to admit. His face was reddened.

"L..Lisa," He said in low voice. He turned his back to Somi. Don't want to see her reaction.

Somi eyes widen listening to the name. 'Lisa eonni from Blackpink. OMG, that was tough.' Somi laughed imagining Jungkook's hardship. Lisa was a hardcore woman. Many male idols were rejected without a chance to date her even once.

"Poor you oppa."

"Okay enough. Why are you here?"

"Just want to spend time talking. I just got back from mom and dad."

"How are you coping during these years?"

"Life was hard as Kim eomma are not well financially. I had to work hard in school and do part-time jobs. And when I started as a trainee at Produce 101 she showed her sickness. She was nice to me oppa. Don't resent her." She held Jungkook's hand.

"I don't know. She took you away from us. You know mom was in a depression from it."

Somi was silent. She was told just now by their parents.

"Do you remember us when you with her?" He looked at Somi with hope.

"Yes, I did. I recalled a boy that always hold my hands when I cried, and mom and dad once gifted a big pink teddy bear to me. I recalled you called me Chubs. But when I asked Kim eomma she said I was dreaming. So slowly I neglected and ignored the dream."

Jungkook pulled her in his arms.

"Your name, it doesn't change. I should have noticed."

"My name is quite common. Kim Somi to Jeon Somi. Let's register me under our family then."

"Yes. Let's do that Somi yah."
