Chapter 15: His Story

Jungkook POV

Seoul

Jungkook pushed open the café's door. He was late for his meeting that night. He promised to meet Somi after they left Busan last weekend but both of them were bombarded with works and packed schedule.

Somi was sitting at the back of the café wearing a brown hoodie with a hat and face mask. Jungkook approached her while eyes looking around for any unwanted attention.

"You are late." She sulked. She was tired from practices and she needed to leave again after this for CFs and his brother tardiness in time management enraged her.

"I fell asleep. Have you ordered?" Somi nodded.

"Are we going to stay like this oppa? I don't want to create a dating scandal with my brother. That's disgusting. Eww." She made a horrible face. He chuckled.

A waiter came to serve them two ice lemon tea and two warm croissants.

"It's not like I wanted to be one with you either! But we can't just drop the bomb like that people will get shocked. We will tell them eventually. Just waiting for perfect timing." He cut the croissant and rubbed some butter before munching it.

"At least we already informed our company. That was okay. Oppa, how is your plan about Lisa?"

Jungkook scratched his non-itchy head. He was thinking of something and it was a risky one. He hasn't contacted her since then. Two weeks passed.

"I planned something and hope it was okay. Her parents are coming here soon. I will meet them first." They walked to the backdoor to exit the café. Somi's van was waiting for her.

"I hope her parents are nice or it will hell for you. Good luck with your plan oppa." She entered the van and left.

He waved until the van was out of his sight. But he didn't saw a shadow of a person with all black clothing person hiding behind the bushes holding a camera. He had been snooping on them since they were in the café. All their interactions were captured.

James's villa

Jungkook arrived at James's villa. He was nervous to meet Lisa's parents and whether they will like him or not. He also worried about his plan for that day. But he promised to come that day. He won't let his nervousness get the best of him. It's now or never.

After he met Somi at the café, there were pictures of him and Somi in a café captured by a paparazzi and they went wild in social media. He was afraid Lisa will get wrong ideas by the news. It was fake after all, but people don't know their real relationship. Both of their companies were still silent waiting for their decision. The ships that existed between him and his sister since then also not helping. Fans were concluded that he was dating Somi. The thought itself gave him shivers.

He rang the bell and waited for the door to open. The person who greeted him was none other Lisa herself. The person he was looking forward to seeing. He felt a wave of happiness by just seeing her cute face. He flashed her his charming smile, but she stood silent. Her smile froze. Not expecting him to appear in front of her door.

She led him to the dining table where everyone was waiting for him. He sat beside Lisa and amused when Lisa trying so hard to avoid his eye contact and blushed when their hands touched. He knew he still had effects on her.

After lunch, Lisa disappeared into her room. Jungkook spent time with her family in the living room. His eyes kept glancing to the staircase. Wishing for her to come down.

"We are thankful that you are willing to befriend her. She was a happy child before her twin died. She built a wall that was hard to be broken. She was afraid to love again, she doesn't want to lose another person she loves." Mrs Brucshweiler said.

It was a revelation to Jungkook. He doesn't know she had a twin or that Lisa was broken in the inside. She was all butterflies and rainbows when they were together despite her cold demeanour. However, he knew the feeling of losing someone dear in life. He remembered losing Somi then. But Lisa had the worst. Her wombmate died. They must be close.

"Lisa is not Lisa. She is Pranpriya. We called her Lily. After, Lisa's death she started lived as Lisa to please us since people in Thailand prefer Lisa because she was the epitome of a perfect daughter. But we never hate Lily. We love her the same way we love Lisa. However, she neglected the real her. We loved Lisa but not the point we want Lily to be Lisa for us." Her father said.

Her mother reached for Jungkook's hand.

"Jungkook, if you can break her wall, we all will be very thankful."

Jungkook clenched his fists together. Loving Lisa... or Lily was what he desired for but when her parents trust him to these levels, he was afraid if he disappointed them.

"Sir, madam I planned to propose your daughter to marry me. I truly love her since the first time I saw her years ago. So, I come here aside from meeting you, I also want to seek your permission." His eyes sparkled with hope and passion. He was serious and won't back out even when he knows Lisa would probably reject him right away.

Her parents looked at him shocked. They were not expecting that.

"I maybe can't break her wall but am committed to make her happy and chase away her sadness and sorrow. I can't replace her twin from her mind or erase her pain, but I can try to patch the pain with new memories." His words were sincere. Mrs Brushweiler got tears in her eyes. She was touched.

"Oh Jungkook, son. I have no objection in that. But I heard a rumour about you these days. I don't want to pressure you with Lisa's problem." Mr Brucshweiler knew the news was quite hot issues considering he was top in his career.

"No, sir. It was a misunderstanding. That girl was my sister." They nodded. Mr Bruschweiler called out for James.

"James go call Lisa upstairs. She had been there for a while. We can't ignore our guest." James got up from his seat to the staircase.

Lisa entered the living room with a frown on her face. She was upset. He can see that. She sat beside her sister-in-law, she was quiet and in dazed throughout the whole conversation. She was avoiding his eye contact. 'Persistent much?'

The moment she recovered from her train of thoughts, he knew she didn't listen to what they told her. When Lisa's family members left her, she got up and went to the sliding door and signalled him to follow her to their fish pond.

"I don't know you would stand this low, Jungkook." Anger was clear in her face but Jungkook was still calm. Lisa was upset and he tried to reason with her, but she was too persistent. He managed to control his temper and asked her to end the discussion. But he'd never thought Lisa would go beyond the limit by mentioning his members.

Their conversation went down hell and his supposed to be proposal was long forgotten. He left their place in a hurry without a goodbye to James and her parents, he was hurt.

Driving from the villa to Seoul, he cried. In his mind flashed all the hardships and difficulties they faced when they debuted. His brothers were his family. They took care of him since he was the youngest.

He arrived at his apartment and called Somi. He needed someone to talk.

"Somi. Can you come here?" He said without greeting. He was on the verge of crying and angry.

"Yes, oppa. I'll be there in fifteen." He ended the call and laid on the couch.

The click from the door indicated Somi was here. She saw her brother was in a mess. His face was red.

"What happened oppa?" Her voice laced with worry.

"Somi. How could she have said that to me? To us?" Somi was confused.

"Why oppa? Please tell me." He was wailing. She hugged him tightly. Telling him, he was not alone when he explained to her what happened.

"She hurt me, Somi." Somi shook. She can't believe that Lisa can say that. After minutes of crying, Jungkook fell asleep. She covered her brother with a blanket as he was sleeping on the couch.

'Lalisa what have you done?' Somi was devastated seeing her brother heartbroken and at the same time, she developed a bit of hate to Lalisa.
