Chapter 44: The Pet Shop

Lisa woke up late the next morning. Everything was in a rush and she only managed a quick shower without washing her hair. But it was nothing that a dry shampoo cant help. She got a slight headache and fatigue. Maybe due to spending times under the rain from the previous day.

At 8.55 am she exactly left her room and her studio was three minutes journey by cars but fifteen minutes by walk. She got no choice but to walk because her manager felt sick all of sudden.

She was racing with times as her feet started to jog to her class. Unfortunately, that day she decided to bring a lot of things with her. Her files, backpack, water bottle and an umbrella if it gonna rain again. How to run when she got a lot of things in her hands?

Halfway to her studio, she stumbled over a rock and thankfully she managed to balance her body but then, her umbrella fell. She groaned but lowered her body to pick it up but that time her water bottle fell, rolling away downhill since the walkway with a little bit steep. She chased her bottle and lowered her body again to catch it then her files fell, making all of the papers scattered away with the aid of the wind from the adjacent sea. They were going everywhere.

Lisa was about to cry because of the disaster morning. Slowly one by one she tried to collect her papers while clutching the other things in her hands.

She was too immersed in collecting her stuff that she didn't notice a car parked behind her on the roadside.

"Lisa ssi?"

Jungkook stood behind her. Lisa was shocked by seeing him there. She acted indifferently.

"Sunbae. What are you doing here?" She gave him a slight bow.

"I'm on my way to the office and then I saw you here picking up something. Let me help you."

Together they were playing tags with the flying papers. It was amusing and Lisa admitted she had fun and almost forgot that she was late.

They managed to collect all papers faster. Lisa scanned the papers in her hands. They were some specks of dirt but not too dirty to be read.

"Thank you sunbae." Lisa smiled.

Jungkook was awestruck by her smile. It made his heart warm and at ease. He didn't notice that he was staring at her. He was at peace staring at her.

"So beautiful..." He whispered.

"Yes, sunbae? You were saying something?"

Jungkook almost got caught.

"Oh. Nothing. Come, let me give you a lift. You are heading to the studio aren't you?"

"Its okay sunbae. I'm almost there. Just around the junction."

Lisa refused him even though she was fifteen minutes late.

Jungkook ignored her and took all her things in her hands one by one and placed them in his car.

"Please don't refuse me. You late."

In Lisa's mind, she was dreading if Mrs Jeon know about their encounter and decided to send her away back to South Korea or maybe Thailand.

"Come on!"

He already opened the door for her. Very persistent!

Lisa gave up and sat in his passenger's seat and fastened the seatbelt.

"Where's your manager?"

"He fell sick today."

"It's a pity. He should hire someone for you."

"Emmm."

For the rest of the journey, the silence was their companion. It was not awkward but Lisa was having a hard time not trying to steal one or two glances towards him. Her eyes were focusing on what clothes he wore, the colour of the clothes, the way how he folded his sleeves until his elbows and the movement of his hands on the steering. Everything about him was the same except his feeling. She missed him. Her eyes caught his wrist. There was a watch. His watch! It was GUCCI. He said he didn't like one!
