Chapter 9: Lily

Present

This week another bouquet arrived in their dorm step. Lisa was certain that her members were suspicious of the person who gave them to her. She tried to ignore them every time they asked her. In her room right now, full of various types of flowers. Jungkook said before he will send every flower to her as she'd never tell him her favourite one. Lisa thought that she could become a florist if the flowers keep on coming.

Honestly, his gesture in courting her made her warm and giddy inside. But she refused to admit defeat. She kept all the notes he sent with the flowers in her special case. A notification from her phone attracted her attention. She opened the message. It was Jungkook.

Bunnytooth: Have you receive my flowers? This time I sent you tulips. They mean perfect love. Just like my love to you. They might not as perfect as your love for your family, but I wish to be one of those love to you.

Lalisa: Yes. I just received them. They are nice. Thank you. You don't have to do this. I will feel back if things are not gonna happen to us.

Jungkook: No. I am confident that you will be mine. Just wait and see Lalisa.

Lalisa: Whatever. Don't say that I don't remind you. See you later.

Jungkook: okay. I will see you soon.

Lisa sat at the corner of her bed. Thinking whether she should or shouldn't Jungkook a chance. She grabbed her phone and called her brother.

"Hello, Lisa." A female greeted her.

"Hello, Jade eonni. How are you?"

"I'm fine. How are you? Aren't you busy right now?"

"I'm good. Not that busy, just have a few photoshoots for several magazines. Eonni, is my brother there?"

"He is in the shower. He will be done soon. Why you don't come and visit. It's been a while since we saw you, Lisa."

"Hehe. Sorry. I want to but I can't drive remember? Why not you come pick me up?" Indeed, YG doesn't allow their artists to drive after the accident happened to their BigBang senior.

"Again, with an excuse. Your brother is here. I'll let you talk to him." Lisa waited until his brother's voice greeted her.

"Yo Lalice. My beautiful sister. How are you, my baby?" James teased her. She hated to be called a baby.

"Hey, oppa. Don't call me baby. I hate it." She yelled at her brother. But a little bit too loud for the poor guy's ear.

"What do I tell about yelling on the phone? I will surely become deaf after this. Jade darling, your husband will be categorized as a handicap soon, thanks to his sister." Lisa heard he shouted at her wife. And she was amused to hear her reply.

"Then I just divorce you and marry another handsome guy."

Lisa laughed so hard and ended up on the floor.

"That was hilarious Oppa. Who knows that Jade got that in her. Hahaha."

"Shut up you Lalice. Why are you calling today? Something's happening?" he asked.

"Yes. Someone happened. There is a guy who confessed to me. What should I do?" She sighed.

"Is it the Jungkook guy?" Lisa was shocked. How did her brother know?

"How do you know oppa?" Eugene chuckled.

"He came met me last time. Since I already know him during our wedding, we are kinda a friend? I think? He told me he likes you. He wanted permission from me."

"And.." Lisa asked.

"I said yes. He was sincere." That answer, however, made her upset. She felt hot all of sudden.

"Why don't you tell me oppa?" She yelled for the second time to him. But this time anger present in her tone.

"Because I know you will get angry like this and will directly reject him. He is a nice guy. Just give him a chance."

"This is my life oppa. You have not right to interfere!" She felt like a puppet right. Everything happened as if it was planned.

"I'm just trying to help Lalice. Don't mad at him. It's my fault." She heard him sighed on another side. The teasing demeanour was gone. she can hear his monotone voice now.

"Right now, go and calm yourself first. I don't like this behaviour of yours. I will hang up. Before I forgot, our parents will come next week. Bye, take care." With that, James ended the phone call with a cold tone. He was upset and disappointed with Lisa.

"Wait. Oppa!" Lisa was still fuming, and she tempted to throw away her phone. Instead, she took one of her pillows and covered her face before screaming her frustration out.

Next week

A week passed by. Lisa had been ignoring a certain bunny after she found out about her brother's involvement. All messages were left unread without a single reply. Her brother also decided to ignore her. She was not used to be ignored by her brother but her ego won't let her guard down to seek apologies first.

Her parents will stay in Korea for a few days because her father has to meet a delegation here. They will stay at her brother's villa. If she wants to meet them she needed to go there or meet somewhere else.

She sent a message to her mother to meet her at a café in Seoul. She was not ready to meet his brother at the moment. When she entered the café her mother wasn't there. She ordered a hot camomile tea and a mocha Galleta for herself. Soon as her mother arrived, the order was ready and they sat near the window.

"How are you doing Lisa?" her mother asked. The last time she saw her daughter was a few months back during festival breaks.

"I'm fine mom. Just tired with works and kinds of stuff. How's the thing in Thailand?" Lisa fidgeted her fingers nervously. Her mother suppressed her with a small smile.

"Everything is okay." She replied. Her old eyes were eyeing Lisa. Anticipating what her reaction would be to her next sentences.

"Soon, it will be her death anniversary. You want to come home for a while?" Her mother asked. Lisa's heart twitched for a moment. Yes, she was aware of the upcoming date even before her mother mentioned just now.

"I can't face her yet mom. I'm afraid that I failed her." A tear slipped her eyes. Her mother rubbed her hands that were on the table.

"She never disappoints in you. Let's go home, Lily." Lisa shocked listening to the name. its been so long since she heard it. she forbid her family calling her Lily. She thought she was the reason Lisa is dead. She did not stop her from going out that day. She is in regret forever.

"Mom. No. Please. Lily is dead. She's gone years ago." Lisa shook her head. The name, it holds to much pain. She don wish to hear it anywhere. At least for now.

Silence blanketed them as both were lost in the sea of memories.

"I heard you fight with your brother about a certain man?" Her mother lifted her eyebrow and looked at her amusingly. Trying to lighten the mood between them. Lisa groaned at her teasing tone.

"Mom, James being a know-it-all brother is not something new. He always wants to mingle in my life matter. It's exhausting."

"I want to meet the guy. James said he was nice and a keeper." Her mother sighed dreamily. Lisa looked at her mother in disbelief. Not every day she could see her mother fangirling a guy who is not her father.

Her mother seemed to notice Lisa's reaction. She beamed at her.

"What are you looking at?"

"Nothing mom. Nothing at all." Lisa continued to seep her drink and eating the cakes.
