Chapter 25: The Party

That night Lisa was dressed brilliantly. Her fiancé bought her a custom-made dress from renowned fashion designer, Wera Vang. Lisa was aware of her fiancé fortune, but she felt bad for using his money when she had her own.

Jungkook sent Angel and Xiaotan to help her get ready and that girl did a good job in dolling her. Angel and Xiaotan will become Lisa's escorts for that night. He doesn't trust any man to come near her.

They sat in the car with a driver sent by Jungkook to bring them to his villa. Lisa was quiet during the ride. She was not happy with his plan and she was feeling selfish because she doesn't invite her family and friends to her engagement party.

Her family, they suffered a lot these past years and she was grateful to them for staying through her hardship. They don't deserve this. Tears started brimming in her eyes, she was getting suffocated being the moving car.

"Stop the car." She ordered the driver, but he didn't listen.

"I said stop the car!" Lisa raised her voice a bit that made the driver obeyed. Xiaotan and Angel looked at each other in confusion and worries.

After the car stopped at the sidewalk, Lisa exited the car and walked opposite to the direction of where they were going. Xiaotan chased after her while Angel called Jungkook.

"Miss, where are you going?" Xiaotan yelled to her.

Lisa ignored her but maintaining her walking speed. Before she can put another step, Angel blocked her path giving Lisa her phone.

She was panting chasing Lisa. Lisa took the phone and heard his voice.

"Where are you going this time?" His voice was slow like a whisper. He sounded tired too. Lisa felt guilty that she was about to ruin his effort that night.

"I'm going back to the hotel. I won't attend the party because I feel all of these are wrong. I don't have my family with me and I don't have my members too. Yours aren't here either. Jungkook, our engagement party should be attended by them." Tears streaming down her eyes. She didn't care about her makeup. Sobs escaped her mouth.

Jungkook sighed.

"I told you to trust me, and you yet aren't." He said in low voice. Disappointment laced within the words.

"I trust you. With all my heart but please... I can't leave them behind. They are my strength when we were apart." Lisa sobbed. Xiaotan and Angel patted her back. Not knowing what to do.

"Huh, just come here first. I can't let you go back to the hotel like that. I need to calm you down first. Come here, okay?" His voice was soothing, and Lisa felt relax listening to him. She nodded but then realised that he can't see her.

"Okay. I'll see you there." Her voice was hoarse.

She gave back the phone to Angel and entered the car. Angel did her best to fix Lisa's makeup. Luckily, she applied waterproof makeup.

The journey ended without Lisa noticing. They entered the villa's front yard that was so big and located near the beach. She can hear the waves crashing and the wind that blew. Her attention went to eyes scan the two-storey villa, the lights were bright and welcoming.

Angel and Xiaotan led her inside when the maid opened the door for them. The sight greeted her was magnificent, a red carpet was laid with vases of fresh flowers lined up. All of them were lilies. There were several species of them. It was like a wedding aisle. Lisa's heart swelled and touched for his effort.

The carpet brought them until the backyard facing the seaside. Angel slid the sliding door open and Jungkook was standing at the end of the carpet, looking dashing in his suit and tie that complement Lisa's dress.
