Chapter 2: If Only We Met Sooner

The next day, Lisa promised her brother to accompany him to find an engagement ring for his fiancée. After being splashed with cold water by her brother, she walked into the living room after showering and putting on clothes. Honestly, this is not the holiday she wanted. She prefers to stay at her apartment and sleeping as the day pass by and held a movie marathon on Netflix. But her pathetic big brother seems desperate and she couldn't resist.

In the kitchen, her brother was frying something in the pan. The food smelled so good. She envied her brother for his ability to cook while Lisa was only able to cook instant noodles. The irony of being a world Masterchef daughter. She took the plate from the overhead rack and handed them to her brother. She set the table and sat while waiting for her brother.

"Here's your food. Eat them faster, we will leave in 30 minutes." They grabbed their fork and spoon and dug in the food.

In the car, comfortable silence engulfed the siblings. James remained focused on the road and sometimes he swore because of the heavy traffic. Well, it was weekend, what to expect? After a few more swearing, he turned to Lisa. His sister hasn't said a word since they left.

"When will you debut?" James asked. He tried to break the silence and at the same trying know her sister progress since they rarely meet and he felt guilty about that. Guilty and frustrated because he kind of oblivious to her life in the entertainment world since business took up most of his time.

"I'm not sure, but certainly not anytime sooner. Chaeyoung just got in last year so we might need few more years to prepare."

"Don't be sad, Lalice. I don't you all will succeed. If you won't be able to debut, would you like to work with me?" James said the latter sentence with a suggestive grin and trying to avert her focus from thinking about their debut. However, his remark made Lisa scoffed at him. She looked at him disbelief.

"Even if I won't debut, I will never go to you. Your fussiness is too overwhelming for me to handle. I would choose to go back to Thailand instead." She spat.

James looked at her annoyingly.

He knew the staffs always complaining about him being too strict at the office. They will tell her everything that happened whenever she visited the company. He cannot tolerate small mistakes at all. Perfectionist, he is like their father. Like father, like son.

"I'm not that bad!" he said in slow voice but heard by Lisa.

"You said it." Lisa shrugged her shoulder.

The jewellery shop that they went belonged to his brother acquaintance. The relationship between them was so special that the owner himself came to greet Lisa and her brother? 

Nevertheless, Lisa flustered when the owner, Junghyun gave her his hand for a shake. He was one of those guys that only can be found in a fashion magazine. She was stunned by the beauty in front of her and quietly squealed in her mind. After a while, James elbowed Lisa to startled her from the dreamy state and glared at her.

"What are you doing? Behave." He warned her. Lisa just pouted and shrugged her shoulder.

While both of the men were talking about the matter she-does-not-want-to-know, Lisa chose to stroll in the shop to eye the jewellery exhibited. All designs were exquisite and beautiful and she thought how much could it costed to buy a plain platinum ring. Everything here screamed expensive and luxury.

As she was busy scanning for couple rings in the left section, she bumped with someone on her left. The man fell into the floor from his stool. Lisa gasped and helped the man by providing her hand for him to grab it. He took her hand and stood and rubbed his lower back.

"I'm so sorry. Are you okay? I was too distracted. I'm sorry." She bowed several times, but the man just gave her a nod. Lisa noticed something about his eyes. She swore she saw them somewhere. Ahh yes! He has the same beautiful eyes as a person from the elevator yesterday. Today, with no bucket hat and face mask, but was he the same person?

"It's okay. I'm good." He smiled at Lisa. Showing his bunny teeth. Those smile, how she which to see them every day. It was nice.

Lisa did not know she was staring at him until he waved his hand in front of her face. He looked amused. What an embarrassment to Bruschweiler clan if her mother knows her daughter ogling a man in such a manner.

"Y..yes. Sorry. I have to go." She left the spot and went to her brother.

By the time she went to James, her brother was looking for her. She sat beside her brother and looking at dozens set of rings on the glass counter. Junghyun was nowhere to be seen.

"Wow. All of them are beautiful. I don't know which one to choose." Lisa's eyes were glittering. She wanted all of them for herself. If only she can get married now. She took several rings and tried putting them into her fingers. She inspected the rings carefully and none escape her attention. All details on the rings matter to her. She wanted the ring to have a special meaning.

As she was busy choosing the ring, the man she met earlier came to the counter to make his payment. He saw Lisa, but she didn't saw him. He intended to call for her but stopped when he heard Lisa talked.

"Oppa. How about this one? I think this is perfect for the wedding." Lisa sounded happy because she found the perfect ring for her brother.

The man felt disappointed without a reason and left after he received his parcel.

'She's getting married. Poor you Jungkook yah. If only we met sooner.' He sighed as he stepped out of the store. His mind still lingered at the black hair girl back at the store and their first meeting yesterday in the elevator. She seemed didn't recognize him because he wore a hat and face mask. His love, at first sight, turned out to be a future bride to someone else. He let out a small sad laugh until his phone rang.

"Hello, Hyung." He answered.

"Where are you?" The caller asked him. He sounded upset.

"I'm at the mall. Just finished shopping. Why Hyung?"

"Come to the office. Band PD wanted to meet us."

"What? Why?"

"We don't know either. Just come faster. We will meet you there." He hung up the call and proceeded to hail a cab. Luckily there was one and heading to BigHit company.
