Chapter 34: Fell

The next day, Lisa carry on her day as usual even though the event from previous night haunted her. she tried to maintain her natural expression and acted normal to avoid suspicion. But how long can she act?

No message from Jungkook and she didn't bother to send one to him either. She had her pride. She was innocent so why should she initiate the apologies. That lunch break Lisa decided to have lunch with the other mentors. Ella being the crackhead she was managed to help her forget about her problem. But the moment didn't last longe when one of the hotel staff came to Lisa to informed that her family and friends are already there.

Her expression became blank. What should she tell them? The wedding was called off? Her parents will go berserk she would be the one to blame. And her brother, he will look at her in disappointment. Again.

After she learned about their arrival, she waited no more but to meet them. They were all in the lobby, checking-in their room. But her eyes focused on certain someone instead.

There he was. He may disappoint him, but he's her escape.

Lisa ran to James and gave him a tight hug.

"Hey, princess. What happened?" He laughed not sensing anything wrong. His hand patted her head. She prevented her tears to flow. Don't want to attract other's attention to her. She was suffocated enough with her current issues.

That evening, her mother and friends helped her for final preparation. She tried her gowns for the last time and while staring at Jungkook's with mixed feelings. Her throat felt dried. Guilt started to eat her up. Lisa acted she was happy in front of her family and friends. She laughed, ate and live happily as if nothing happens.

That night, James call her for a talk. She knew what he wanted to talk about. It didn't take long for her brother to smell something was wrong. She was nervous as heck.

"Jungkook hasn't called me until now. He said he will meet us when we arrive. I tried to call him too, but it was not connected. I don't want to jump into conclusion, but your behaviour this afternoon was off and you were faking tour smile. Is there anything that happened? I feel you are a bit different today." He gave her a pointed look with hands crossed. Was she caught?

Lisa averted her eyes. She was afraid to say a word. She knew he would get angry.

"You argue with him?"

Bull eyes! But she chose not to react. But James knew her better.

"I knew it! What's the cause?" He looked at her expectedly. Waiting for her explanation.

"He was angry. He thought I cheated on him..."

James seemed not satisfied with her reply. There must more of it. Sensing that her brother was not buying it, she continued and told him everything from the start.

"He said he will call off the wedding."

"What did you do then? Did you stop him?" He asked.

"I didn't stop him. I provoked him that made him angrier. He left in anger." She said in low voice.

He sighed while rubbing his face.

"You shouldn't provoke him."

"He was accusing me!" She was defending her right. She was accused of cheating!

James lifted his forefinger, signalling her to stay quiet. The disappointment on his face made Lisa disgusted in herself.

"He treated you like a princess, isn't he? Jealousy is normal in a relationship even husbands and wives can get jealous too. It's normal. It means he loves you."
