Chapter 41: He Came Back

A few days passed by with Lisa occupying herself at the stable learning about horses, busking at the café or drowned herself with her mentoring tasks. She went through her days with smiles and light steps that tricked people on her surrounding. Everyone thought that she finally moved on. Her members trusted her enough for them to let her in China alone after two weeks.

But what they don't know, as soon as the moon and stars appeared, her pain came back. She can't busy herself at night aside from weeping and reminiscing their memories. She was alone. No family or her members. And certainly...

No Jungkook.

The next morning Lisa had another session at the stable with Ai Lin. This time Lisa learned to bath horses and cleaned their waste. It was hard and tiring especially when she can't stand the strong smell. Lisa can't count how many times she was getting lightheaded when scooping the dung in the stable. Ai Lin offered her a bandana to cover her nose which Lisa gladly accept. She made sure to tie it tightly around her neck.

After cleaning the stable, Lisa took Alex to stroll along the beach. She held him by the rein and walked out from the stable. The walk was nice and Lisa enjoyed every moment with Alex. He was gentle and funny sometimes.

But their moments were cut short when her eyes caught a familiar car entered the hotel main gate. Her attention went to the driver.

He got out of the car went to the other side, to the passenger seat. He brought someone with him. Who could it be? His mother? Or Somi?

It was not until the person fully got off the car, Lisa's eyes widened.

She was Amy. She was smiling brightly with her arm linked with his. They were talking animatedly. Lisa tore her gaze away and hid it on Alex's long neck. There was another crack on her heart.

Lisa decided to spend the rest of her day at the stable. She cant risk to meet him at the lobby or café. She'd rather holding her breath with the unpleasant smell than come across with him. Lisa was not strong enough. She was afraid will run to him and hug him tight.

A lorry of new hays came in to replace the old ones. Since Lisa was in charge of Alex, she helped the staff to change his hays. She swept away all the dirt and polished the floor. Once the wet floor dried up, she went to the lorry and took as many as heap f hays she could and bundle it up like a thick mattress.

"Let's put them more, more, more and more until the floor is unseen. I envy you. You have a nice mattress now." Lisa said excitedly to the horse.

The pile of the hays went higher and higher that it made her want to take a nap on it. Lisa lowered her body and laid on the bed of hays. Slowly she drifting away into dreamland.

"Hi."

"Hello..."

"Excuse me..."

Someone was there calling for her. Lisa opened her eyes trying to adjust the light from blinding her eyes. Lisa can't see the person very well because he back was facing the light source.

"Hello... are you okay?"

Slowly Lisa's eyes managed to catch his face. She abruptly got up and ran away. She cant be seen here. Luckily her sunglasses was not removed.

"Hey get back here!"

Sorry, Lisa was too far away from reach.

Walking a little bit farther, a group of staff were having a picnic at a picnic table. They were calling for her to join them.

"Miss, come a try this. Locals like to eat this fruit with this special sauce. Come have a piece." Ai Lin gave Lisa a small bowl of fruit and sauce. Lisa dipped one piece of the fruit into the sauce and put it into her mouth.

"It's delicious but the sauce is quite spicy."

"Is that okay for you miss?"

"Yes, I'm good. You have mineral water right?"

"Yes, we have. Ask me if you want one."

As Lisa was busy munching the fruit with sauce, she talked with the stable staff. There were all kind and sporting. Lisa had a nice evening with them.

Then, Ai Lin's eyes when on Lisa's back. She looked nervous.

"Good afternoon everyone." Lisa froze.

"Good afternoon sir."

The tension in the air was visible but the newcomer was unaware of the tension. Lisa ducked her head lower trying to eat the fruit faster and get away from there faster.

Just her luck when he sat in front of her. With Amy by  his side. Lisa was fuming inside and Amy's facial expression made it worst. She was mocking her.

The nerve of that woman.

"Sir Jeon please have some." Ai Lin placed the same fruit and sauce in front of Jungkook and Amy.

They both feeding each other. Who did they think there were? Amy was eyeing her with a smirk on her face. Lisa wished she could bury Amy alive in the ground or drowned her in the sea. She was challenging Lisa. Lisa watched with scrutiny eyes and munched the fruits harder. The spiciness of the sauce was long forgotten as she kept munching as if she was munching Amy's head. She forgot about the spiciness of the sauce that made her face reddened.

"Jungkook darling, do you want more fruit?" She fed him. Strike one!

"Jungkook darling, can you tie my hair? It's hot here?" She stroked his arm. Strike two!

"Jungkook darling can you blow my eyes. Something caught in." She pushed her face closer to his. Strike three!

The innocent Jungkook slowly leaned into Amy's face and Lisa had enough of the drama. The spiciness that she restrained just now was flaring that made her cried. She slapped the table hard that startled everyone included Amy and Jungkook.

"LAY DARLING. PASS ME MY MINERAL WATER!"

Everyone choked and spitted their food.

Lisa went back to Alex. Brushing his fur and hugging his neck. The spiciness gradually went away but the tears can't stop. She was not strong enough to do this. Seeing him with another girl made her weak.

There was no more mineral water for her. The last bottle was given to Amy.

"You are the one at the stable right? Why you run when you saw me?"

He came back. But no words coming from her. Why was he looking for her?

"Here take this. I haven't drink it yet. Was it too spicy that you cry after eating it?"

Hasn't he recognize her?

Lisa decided not to hide anymore.

"Yes. I'm sorry. I was shocked seeing you there just now."

Lisa removed her sunglasses and greeted Jungkook politely.

"Hello, Jungkook sunbae. I'm Lisa of Blackpink. Nice to meet you."

Lisa's heart was beating nervously as she waited for his reaction.

"Oh, it's you, Lisa ssi. No wonder you ran away. Director Zhang did mention about a survival show filming here and one of my co-idols is the mentor. Nice to meet you too."

Lisa's heart cracked. He recognised her.
