The next day
Lisa's parents invited her for lunch at her brother's villa. She wanted to refuse but thinking of parents that she seldom meets, she gave in. The journey only took 20 minutes car ride without traffic but since it was a weekend, there were a lot of cars on the road. She arrived quite late. All of the family members already in the living room and she greeted everyone.
"Hi, sorry I'm late. The traffic was horrible this morning." She said approaching her mother and father, kissing them on the cheeks. She hugged Jade too and glared to her brother.
Her mother dragged her into the kitchen and the two started making lunch together. She helped her mother stirring the soup in the pot and cutting the cabbage. She doesn't have talent in cooking but becoming a helper was never a problem. Her mother scooped her some soup into a small rice bowl and asked her to taste them.
"How is it?"
"Good. It's been a while since I eat your cooking mom." She smiled back and continued seeping the soup. Eyes closed enjoying the warm soup that going down her throat.
"You are still not making up with your brother? I saw the cold shoulder you gave him just now." Her mother sighed and looked at Lisa disappointedly. Waiting for her to respond. No reaction.
"I hate it when people mingle with my life mom. You know it. Sooner or later I will reconcile with James. Don't worry." Lisa said. Looking at the window, admiring the back garden. Or rather, avoiding her mother's gaze.
"There will be a guest joining us today." Lisa glanced at her mother and then to the amount of food on the table. Fit for a feast.
"Who?" Curiosity hit her. Her mother doesn't have a close friend here.
Her mother ignored her and continued cooking her dishes. Lisa just shrugged her shoulder and sat on the stool.
After setting the dining table, Lisa sat beside her mother with Jade in front of her. The smell from the food on the table didn't do her any good. She was hungry like crazy, but they can't eat yet. They were still waiting for their guests.
"Where is your guest mom? I'm hungry." Lisa whined.
"Just wait for a moment. You're not going to die." Her mother slapped her hand as she was trying to dip her finger into a bowl.
"Ahh. It's hurt."
Her father laughed at her childish antics.
The doorbell rang and Lisa was told to open the door.
"Lisa, go get our guest."
She wanted to refuse but her mother was glaring at her. A smile decorated her face. Way to greet a guest with good hospitality. As she opened the door, there stood tall Jeon freaking Jungkook with his bunny smile. Lisa's smile vanished from her face but still, she gave way for him to enter the house.
Her mother squealed and gave him a hug and a kiss on a cheek. He greeted her father politely gaining a pat on the shoulder and a brotherly hug from Eugene.
Lisa walked from the door to the dining and Jungkook was assigned to sit next to her.
'Mom!' She tried to catch her mother's eyes. But the woman was avoiding her like a parasite.
"It's nice to finally meet you Jungkook. I have been hearing stories about you from James." Her mother said while passing a glass of water to him.
"It's my pleasure to meet you too sir and madam." He flashed them his charming smile while Lisa was trying to hide her cringe from being seen.
