Soobin stretched tiredly in bed, it was still dark out and would be a while before the sun would rise.

Sleep didn't come easy to him, it was a problem he had developed some time during his teen years, every time he'd go to bed, he felt as though everything he knew would be gone when he'd wake up. Sleep anxiety, they called it, Soobin had been receiving treatment for a couple of years but some nights were worse than others when he wouldn't get even a wink of sleep the whole night.

Soobin paused the show he was watching and took off his earbuds, though dawn wasn't yet here, he could hear the chirping of birds in a distance, along with the soft breathing of his husband besides him.

Soobin looked at his husband's sleeping face and smiled. He was 26 now, after his husband had asked him out for high school prom, they had gone to date and gotten married early, during the spring after his 21st birthday. In high school, Kai had been a great friend to him, and as their last year had come around, Soobin had developed feelings for the other, being delighted when the younger asked him to be his date for their prom.

Today was a special day for the pair, after having been married for five years, they were finally adopting a son. It had been a tiring process to get all their documents approved and be selected for adoption but the day was finally here, today their son was coming home. Soobin was excited.

After the sun was up and Kai had started stirring in his sleep, Soobin got up, deciding to surprise his husband with breakfast in bed. By the time Soobin was done brewing coffee and making toast with over easy eggs, Kai was also up.

"Good morning!"

Soobin felt arms wrapping around his waist as he was about to pick the tray up.

"Good morning."

"Ooh breakfast."

"I thought I'd get you breakfast in bed. Well, since you're up, you can get the milk," Soobin patted Kai's head before taking the tray and heading to the dining table.

Kai grabbed the almond milk from the fridge along with two glasses and followed his husband to the table.

Soobin yawned as Kai sat down besides him.

"It was bad last night, right?"

"Yeah. But it's probably the excitement for today," Soobin smiled.

"I know right!"

"I wonder if he'll like the room."

"He will. You worked so hard to get the matching furniture set too, of course he'll like it."

"I really hope so."

"Anyway, you don't have to push yourself today, alright? If you start feeling tired we can skip the whole dinner thing and just order take out."

"Don't worry honey, I'm as energetic as ever today!"

Kai laughed and Soobin too, did. It was a happy occasion for the couple and both couldn't wait for afternoon when they'd be heading to the foster home to pick up their adopted son.

"Oh God I feel nervous," Soobin giddily smiled as they reached the foster home.
