XXVI

Soon, both Yeonjun and Kai were back and the boys started watching another movie. This time Beomgyu was deadset on watching a scary movie and not even Soobin and Kai's protests were enough to get him to budge.

"Guys, it's seriously just a movie, what is there to be afraid of?" Beomgyu dawdled lazily, scrolling for the movie.

"Oh but we could really just watch a nice sweet movie," Soobin tried.

"Horror movies can be nice too, Soobin-hyung," Beomgyu sang.

"We'll be going to bed after this so it'd be nice to watch something cute so that we can have nice dreams too," Yeonjun piped up, feeling bad for Soobin who seemed to genuinely dread the idea of watching a horror movie.

"You traitor!" Beomgyu gasped.

"Oh yeah, we're having a sleepover," Taehyun said, trying to divert the topic.

"We're not even going to actually sleep so don't worry about nightmares and quit staying on Soobin's side just because you love him, hyung," Beomgyu said, eyes fixated on the screen as he continued to look for a suitable horror movie.

Soobin turned bright red, appreciating the darkness in the room which helped make his embarrassment less noticeable.

"We're not going to sleep?" Yeonjun questioned.

"So you're not even going to address the other thing?" Kai laughed, trying to act indifferent but wanting to hear what Yeonjun had to say.

"The other thing?" Yeonjun looked over at Kai with innocent eyes.

Taehyun quietly watched the scene unfold while Beomgyu strained his ears to hear every detail even though he was turned away from them.

A million thoughts shot through Soobin's head, wondering if Beomgyu was right, hoping he was but also thinking that it wasn't possible.

Not knowing what to say, Kai stayed silent while all the other boys waited. When the silence seemed to drag on for forever, Taehyun nudged Beomgyu to click on whatever random movie as he had stopped scrolling for one.

After the movie started playing, all the boys turned to the screen, acting like their attention had wavered away from the previous topic. However, everyone besides Yeonjun was still fixated on it inside their heads.

Soobin cautiously stole glances at Yeonjun wondering why the older hadn't denied it when Beomgyu had said that he loved the former. Though Soobin so much wanted to believe that Yeonjun actually loved him in a romantic manner, he settled to believe that Yeonjun would've probably answered with a "Yeah, I love Soobin, he's a precious friend to me like all of you, I love all of you," if Kai had happened to continue pressing on to the matter.

Kai watched Soobin periodically steal peeks at Yeonjun, wondering how Soobin was feeling. "Maybe I unintentionally hurt Soobin-hyung when I highlighted Beomgyu-hyung's words," Kai thought to himself, feeling like an absolute scumbag.

Taehyun could sense the uneasiness that was looming behind his back. He wondered why Yeonjun hadn't commented on Beomgyu's accusations. Taehyun had wanted to see what the older would've said and the silence had disappointed him but Taehyun knew that whatever Yeonjun would've said, would've ended up hurting either Kai or Soobin and came to a conclusion that Yeonjun's silence had been the best answer, though not the most satisfying one.

Beomgyu wondered if he had said too much or that he had unintentionally hurt three of his friends by his thoughtless words. Now that he'd already said and done it, he felt guilty for even having brought the topic up, though it was all in humor. He cuddled up to Taehyun, feeling as though he had again hurt other people because of his insensitivity.

Picking up on Beomgyu's gloomy disposition as the older cuddled into him, Taehyun scooped him up and made him sit upright on his lap. Whispering in Beomgyu's ear, Taehyun calmly said, "Don't worry about it, I know you didn't mean to start things up. Whatever you said was left in question so it's not anything new to any of us anway."

Giving Taehyun a humorous smile, Beomgyu replied with a kiss on Taehyun's cheek, "Thanks, babe, I appreciate it."

Taehyun turned light pink as he took Beomgyu's hand and gently squeezed it, smiling sweetly at the older.
